I think I they are mostly boring. But I like Rafaela and Madeleine.

Perfectnight · 25/02/2018 09:41

I don’t like any of them either sorry but Madeline is the best

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 25/02/2018 09:42

Love Ruth.

bridgetreilly · 25/02/2018 09:47

In order:
Rosalind nn Rosie
Ruth
Elspeth nn Essie or Elsie (LOVE Elsie)
Flora nn Florrie (Don't like Florrie. Just call her Flora)
Bethan
Madeline (mad-uh-line)
Raffaela nn Raffie
Olive

Bethan - Welsh short form of Elizabeth, hugely popular with Welsh speakers in the 1960s. Currently popular by non-Welsh speakers as a long form of Beth. A bit hmm.
Ruth - classic name. Ruthie is cute. I'm not mad about it but it's ok.
Madeline (mad-uh-line) - the Mad-uh-lyn pronunciation is ok. Mad-uh-line or Mad-uh-leen pronunciation dreadful. Caroline is muh nicer if you want the -line ending and can be shortened to Carrie or Carly.
Raffaela nn Raffie - dreadful
Olive - oily fruit
Elspeth nn Essie or Elsie - no. Elspeth is ok. Essie is a nail polish. Elsie is popular.
Flora nn Florrie
Rosalind nn Rosie

much not muh

Ruth
Rosalind
Madeleine
Bethan
Flora
Elspeth
Olive
That’s my order of preference (my mum was Ruth, born in 1923 and I don’t know any youngsters with the name).

thegreylady · 25/02/2018 14:30

Missed out Raffaella which I do like and would put second on the list.

Ickyockycocky · 25/02/2018 14:35

I like Rosalind and Madeleine.

NannyR · 25/02/2018 14:40

I love Rosalind, Bethan and Ruth are nice too. I don't like Olive at all.

pangolinga · 25/02/2018 15:20

How about Rosamund or Rosanna?

PutYourSlippersOn · 25/02/2018 16:35

My favourite are Olive and Rafeala.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 25/02/2018 16:36

Really love Flora.

FeedtheTree · 25/02/2018 17:00

I love Elspeth. It was on my shortlist (we had boys).
Ruth is a cute middle name. Maybe a bit plain as a first name, though Ruthie is cute.
I've only heard Raffaella pronounced Raff-eye-ella.
How about Rosa as a short version of Rosaline

Doratheexplorer78 · 25/02/2018 19:46

Love Olive. Would have used it myself but didn't go with our surname.
