I’m sorry I don’t get the Star Trek references. Can someone explain?

How about two middles names?

"ised" and "tyre"?

NeganLovesLucille · 24/02/2018 09:30

0/10 OP.

You ruined your joke by mantioning Star Trek. No one mentioned it, so you must know what the Spock, Nimoy etc comments mean!

Passmethecrisps · 24/02/2018 09:30

So what is your reasoning for the name Vulcan?

selftitledalbum · 24/02/2018 09:31

Please don’t be so bloody stupid

Passmethecrisps · 24/02/2018 09:31

When you type Vulcan you get this 🖖🏽 It might be cool to have a name with its own emoji

PepperSteaks · 24/02/2018 09:32

I’ve never seen Star Trek but have heard of the character Spock.
After the root word for volcano. Like the god of fire.

OP Vulcan is the name of a race of people, and their planet, in Star Trek. It's a pretty popular series and your child would likely be teased for it.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 24/02/2018 09:32

You scored your own goal, OP Confused

TossDaily · 24/02/2018 09:33

Balonz?

Unihorn · 24/02/2018 09:33

You'd hope your daughter would grow to be logical though.

BikeRunSki · 24/02/2018 09:35

twinone beat me to Bomber. Smile

LeslieKnopefan · 24/02/2018 09:36

I can’t quite decide if you are having us on OP.

I have never watched Star Trek but have heard of Vulcan. I suggest you do some googling and then rethink the name as it will lead to a life time of Star Trek references for your child.

leghairdontcare · 24/02/2018 09:39

Spock is the 2nd result when you Google Vulcan. Nobody is going to meet a child called Vulcan and say "oh, just like the god of fire"

whoareyoukidding · 24/02/2018 09:39

If you take away the star trek references, it isn't a bad sounding name really apart from the closeness to the word vulva

blueskyinmarch · 24/02/2018 09:40

I thought Bomber too. Grin I knew a black lab called Bomber. Suited him a treat.

RebelRogue · 24/02/2018 09:41

Haephaestos Grin

CrochetBelle · 24/02/2018 09:42

Assuming it's a boy's name, he's going to get the shit kicked out of him anyway so might as well just give him the middle name Betsy or Gertrude, or Lesley.

Pearlsaringer · 24/02/2018 09:43

McVulcanFace

HairyBallTheorem · 24/02/2018 09:44

Damn, 40 odd posts too late to suggest "Spock".

Seriously, OP, you need to up your game at this trolling lark. You're not very good at it. Mentioning Star Trek was a real rookie mistake. Work on your wide eyed faux-innocent look.

Mentioning that you know Spock is the Vulcan character from Star Trek when no-one's mentioned it on thread - instant 0 out of 10.

"Why does everyone keep saying Spock?" This would have taken you from nul points to maybe a 2 out of 10 because while it's not believable that someone would be so divorced from popular culture as to not get the reference at all, at least you're shooting for some sort of internal consistency.

"Ha ha, see what you mean. I honestly hadn't made the connection because I'd come up with name thinking mythical gods..." Takes you to a solid 4 out 10 (still obviously trolling, but at least you're trying).

Sparklingbrook · 24/02/2018 09:44

What is your DDs name? Names have to match these days you know.

BikeRunSki · 24/02/2018 09:45

Hillary
Beverly
Evelyn

All good traditional boy’s names.
