I'll be absolutely gutted if the royal family call their baby Alice 😐😐 its the only name we agree on and I've got the ultimate fear!!

Surely it'll be a Bolonz? Quintessentially British.

DeliveredByKiki · 22/02/2018 21:04

my money's on Elizabeth and Edward

mergrey · 22/02/2018 21:06

I don't think they will go with Alexandra because George's middle names are Alexander Louis. I do really love it though! I don't think they will use Victoria either as it's still so heavily associated with Queen Victoria.

They've played it quite safe with the first two so maybe with the third they'll get abit braver?

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 22/02/2018 21:07

I doubt it will be Edward.

mergrey · 22/02/2018 21:09

Also I highly doubt it would be Elizabeth as Charlotte is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana

YellowPrimula · 22/02/2018 21:11

Now they have an 'heir and a spare' I hope they just go for a name they like ,maybe something a little left field . Maybe Emmeline or Helena / Eleanor for a girl or Arthur for a boy or Alexander .

NapQueen · 22/02/2018 21:13

Philippa. Nods to both sides.

MikeUniformMike · 22/02/2018 21:16

Coco-Mai and JayCub-Balonz?

RustyBear · 22/02/2018 21:24

@MikeUniformMike - Eleanor has a pretty good record as a royal name -Wife of Henry II
Daughter of Henry II
Daughter of King John
Wife of Henry III
Wife of Edward I
Daughter of Edward I
Daughter of Edward II

Though with George and Charlotte they seem to be going for the Hanoverian, rather than the Plantagenet tradition, so maybe Caroline (with a nod to Kate’s mum) Amelia or even Frederica. Probably not Augusta, though.

MikeUniformMike · 22/02/2018 21:28

Helena perhaps. I'm not keen on Eleanor and see Princess Ellie/Nellie as a headline.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 22/02/2018 21:34

My guess is Matilda, Alice, Isabella or Arthur, Frederick, Albert.

Rainbowsandflowers78 · 23/02/2018 01:01

I see them as more likely to use Caroline than Eleanor

Rainbowsandflowers78 · 23/02/2018 01:01

Matilda is a lovely name but possible too German for a uk royal family?

Joeybee · 23/02/2018 05:02

I think they might go with Mary....which would be good if they did as it's become a dated name which needs a revival.
Alice is definitely a strong contender. I wonder about Alexandra as well.

SuperBeagle · 23/02/2018 05:29

Almost certain it won't be Alexandra.

As others have pointed out, Alexander is one of George's middle names.

Mary could be a contender though!

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 23/02/2018 05:34

The heir to the Spanish throne is a princess Eleanor.

How on earth do the bookies "know" what the baby will be called? What do they base it on? They seem to get it right Confused

flumpybear · 23/02/2018 06:54

Oh god Mary is an awful name I really hope they don't chose that

I'm hoping James for a boy too, or Alexandra for s girl

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 23/02/2018 07:16

I don't think it will be Mary.

ImListening · 23/02/2018 08:05

I love the name Mary & wanted dd2 called that but dh didn’t like it

SamanthaBrique · 23/02/2018 08:10

The heir to the Spanish throne is a princess Eleanor.

She's actually Leonor, but that is basically the same name.

harrietm87 · 23/02/2018 13:02

They surely won't go Caroline - it's basically the same name as Charlotte.

Also don't think they'd choose Alexandra as Alexander is one of George's middle names.

I hope they don't go for Mary as want it for my baby, also due April!

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/02/2018 14:04

Perhaps this one will have a name or two from Kate's side of the family.

iceycage · 24/02/2018 08:23

I think it'd be nice for them to go a little more unusual- royal of course but perhaps Adelaide, Eleanor/Helena, Matilda but I think it'll be either Alice or Mary. Alexandra is lovely but doubt it'd be used considering George's middle name and I'm actually pleased because it's my favourite girl's name but isn't too popular at the moment so would like to avoid a rise in popularity !

For a boy my bets are on Arthur or Albert and almost certainly Philip as a middle name.

HotCrossBunFight · 24/02/2018 08:45

I wonder if they'd have used the same names if they didn't have to be royal.

RustyBear · 24/02/2018 09:55

Not sure that Alexander being one of George’s middle names would rule out Alexandra for a girl, or even Alexander for a boy - the Duke of York is Andrew Albert Christian Edward, and that didn’t stop the Queen calling her next child Edward. And, of course, every one of Queen Victoria‘s boys had Albert somewhere in their names and one of the girls had Alberta. So repetition doesn’t seem to worry the royals.
