I'll be absolutely gutted if the royal family call their baby Alice 😐😐 its the only name we agree on and I've got the ultimate fear!!

I think it would be Alice or Alexandra for a girl (sorry, op)

I was wondering if they might go for Rupert for a boy (with Phillip and Michael as middle names). Or Henry, but actually call him Henry (unlike uncle)

mathanxiety · 22/02/2018 07:22

Andrew was the name of Prince Philip's father - hence I suspect Prince Andrew's name.

I doubt they will use Alexandra as Alexander is George's first middle name. Or Elizabeth - this is Charlotte's first middle name, and also QEII is still alive.

George and Charlotte have a pattern of shortish first name, long middle name and relatively short second middle name.
George Alexander Louis
Charlotte Elizabeth Diana

I suspect they will follow the same pattern for No. 3.
Alice Victoria Caroline?
Alice Victoria Sophie?
Alice Margarita Cecelie?
Rose Theodora Eleanore?
Cecelie Adelaide Rose?

Arthur Christian Philip?
Frederick Philip Albert?

IggyAce · 22/02/2018 07:26

Adelaide and Leopold are my predictions.

MammieBear · 22/02/2018 07:28

Apparently they don't like using names with a bad history, with the last Princess Alice dying I doubt they will use it.

MammieBear · 22/02/2018 07:28

Dying young

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/02/2018 07:30

But the last couple of princess Alices lived to nearly 100! I doubt they'd choose Alexandra as there's already a Princess Alexandra.

NapQueen · 22/02/2018 07:37

Harriet?

AppleKatie · 22/02/2018 07:44

Margaret? Contender for a middle name perhaps?

Alice Margaret Anne

Victoria Margaret

And boys:

Arthur Philip Edward?

NameChangeDestroyer · 22/02/2018 08:53

I doubt they'd choose Fredrick as there is already a Lord Frederick Windsor well and truly alive (whose daughter is at school with Prince George). Although, Prince William has a cousin called Charlotte and that didn't stop him choosing that name for his daughter.

SuperBeagle · 22/02/2018 08:57

I'm guessing either Eleanor or Matilda for a girl.

Frederick for a boy. It won't be Albert because of the infamous Prince Albert piercing.

Mammyloveswine · 22/02/2018 09:12

We almost called DS2 Albert as i LOVE Bertie but we went with Elijah instead (Eli). Doubt Kate and William will copy us!

I think Albert is a definite contender, i would have thought James too but with Edward having a James perhaps not... maybe Alfred? Given this is baby number 3 they can be a bit more "adventurous". They may go for Phillip? Or have it is a middle name!

Girl i think Frances or Francesca, or Victoria

LexieLulu · 22/02/2018 09:15

@MissMoodyMoo when I was pregnant with my first, he was going to be called George. The Royal baby was born when I was 6m pregnant ☹️ I couldn't bring myself to still use it as I didn't want people to think I was copying.

My second child is called Alice. She'll be 2 when this royal baby is born. I really hope they don't use it. It was very high in the favourites when princess Charlotte was born.

brizzledrizzle · 22/02/2018 09:33

Mary Adelaide Louise
Arthur Edward George

brizzledrizzle · 22/02/2018 09:34

Not George, Doh!

Rainbowsandflowers78 · 22/02/2018 10:51

People always forget Kate’s brother is James

brizzledrizzle · 22/02/2018 11:52

Arthur Edward James then
or Mary Adelaide Louise - using some of the names of Queen Victoria's children and Mary for the Queen.

Thurlow · 22/02/2018 11:59

Alexandra or Victoria for a girl, I reckon. Sophie would work but there's Sophie of Wessex.

Albert, Alexander, Arthur or Louis for a boy.

userabcname · 22/02/2018 12:06

I reckon Victoria for a girl. Perhaps Victoria Catherine? For a boy I'm not so sure. It's a shame they used Alexander as a middle name for George as that would have been lovely.

BishopBrennansArse · 22/02/2018 12:18

What about Frogmella or Spudulica?

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/02/2018 12:25

Adelaide Carol
Philip Gary

All family names

bridgetreilly · 22/02/2018 15:32

I bet Alice is high up their list.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 22/02/2018 16:53

I don't think it matters if they do choose it. It's not like it's some obscure name, I know quite a few Alice's ranging from baby to old lady!

HotCrossBunFight · 22/02/2018 16:57

I think Alice is quite likely too.

UsernameInvalid66 · 22/02/2018 16:57

I think it will be Alice for a girl but I wouldn't let that put me off using it for a daughter of my own, if I was having one. I might if they chose a really unusual "royal" name that nobody has been using recently - Berengaria or Henrietta for example!

I also think James is highly likely for a boy since it has ties to both sides of the family. It would be a bit unusual for first cousins to have the same name, but remember Edward's James isn't this child's first cousin - he's William's first cousin, despite the age gap!

Bookmakers think it’s a girl, to be called Mary.
