He likes traditional, old fashioned names (Henry, Arthur, Aubrey etc) - I abhor them all. I like modern, European names but nothing too "out there". Detest all the currently popular names like Noah, Arlo etc (no offence!).

We are a French / Irish / Dutch / Italian / English mix. We have an Irish O'Surname so anything starting or ending in O is out. Or anything super Irish as a first name (which is a shame as i like many Irish boys names).

So far the only options we have are

Leon
Sebastien
Julien
Frédéric
Hunter (maybe too controversial, can't imagine our families liking it, or a baby being called that.., but we do both like it)

Help! I want a name that we both love? Any suggestions?

Hmm good point about Hunter not working in French. Unter is just not gonna work! Damn, (most of) your enthusiasm had almost convinced me!

I will certainly out myself now but we have an Etienne in close family already so that's not an option unfortunately
