Harriet or Hannah

Baby #3 is due in a few weeks and we're sorted for a boy's name. Our surname is one syllable.

DD1 has the same name as Prince George's sister and DD2 is the Roman goddess of flowers and spring.

If we have a third DD, which do you prefer: Harriet or Hannah?

Harriet

VioletCharlotte · 10/02/2018 17:59

I prefer Hannah.

floriad · 10/02/2018 18:01

I love the name of your younger daughter Wink (yes, I'm biased.)
Hannah is one of DH's favourite names / he'd love to name the baby (if female) Hannah.

Idk, they're both nice. :) !

floriad · 10/02/2018 18:02

I think I prefer Hannah.

PastramiAndRye · 10/02/2018 18:03

This is my problem, @floriad! I absolutely love DD2's name and I'm struggling to find a name I like as much.

I think Hannah goes better, but I do love Harriet
Both lovely!

@PastramiAndRye

Similar names according to nameberry:

Adelaide, Alice, Annabel, Celia, Cecilia, Clara, Cora, Cordelia, Cornelia, Dahlia, Daphne, Eleanor, Eliza, Genevieve, Georgiana, Helena, Imogen. Josephine, Juliet, Lavender, Louise, Louisa, Marguerite, Paloma, Violet, Rose.

Louisa is lovely imo.

PastramiAndRye · 10/02/2018 18:17

Quite a few of those names DH vetoed eg Cordelia, Celia, Annabel, Helena.

A few we had to discount due to family/friends: Eliza, Alice Juliet.

If DH wasn't involved in the naming, another girl would probably be Rosalind!

I prefer Hannah by a long way. Would you consider Anna as an alternative? I like that even more.

PastramiAndRye · 10/02/2018 18:18

I like Anna too but it's close to a friend and a family member.

They're both lovely names. I wanted to call dd Hannah at one point, but DH vetoed it. Harriet is rather nice as well - and might work better with a one-syllable surname?

LoveB · 10/02/2018 18:24

Harriet

uncoolnn · 10/02/2018 18:24

Hannah. But I am biased Wink

user1459464195 · 10/02/2018 18:33

Hannah. For me, Harriet is too similar to your DD1's name.

flybabyfly · 10/02/2018 18:35

Hannah is lovely.

Jammycustard · 10/02/2018 18:37

I know sisters Harriet and Charlotte. Sounds good I think.

handonhip · 10/02/2018 18:40

Hannah!

VioletCharlotte · 10/02/2018 18:42

Charlotte, Flora and...

Imogen
Isobel
Iris
Emily
Chloe

Sorry, you weren't looking for suggestions, but I like thinking of girls names! (I've got 2 boys)

PistFump · 10/02/2018 18:42

Hannah - but I am very biased!!

Jenijena · 10/02/2018 18:42

Hannah is my girls name of choice... but I’ve had two boys (and really struggled naming them in comparison).

Clarabumps · 10/02/2018 18:45

Harriet!

Clarabumps · 10/02/2018 18:47

I also love your younger daughters name.

ManagedTeaCups · 10/02/2018 18:48

Harriet

FeedtheTree · 10/02/2018 18:51

I like them both, but I prefer Hannah. There's something a bit sharp edged about the sound of Harriet (like harried, meaning stressed) which slightly puts me off. Hannah is just gorgeous in every way, though.

Beatrice
Mathilda
Madeleine
