For a boy... but just as a name in its own right rather than a nick name for Christopher?

I like it Smile

KingPrawnOkay · 04/02/2018 13:22

I think it’s an okay nickname but in my opinion it doesn’t stand well on its own. Seems quite weak as a full name, if you get me, but I do love a strong, unusual name, so just personal preference.

Bonnieb168 · 04/02/2018 13:29

Yes that’s what I’m not sure of @kingprawn! But I don’t really like the name Christopher!

As long as your surname isn't Kat 😉

OhMrDarcy · 04/02/2018 13:33

Love the name Kit. Always wanted it as a short form for Christian.

bonbonours · 04/02/2018 13:34

I like it a lot, but possibly influenced by a very dear friend with that name

FannyHertz · 04/02/2018 13:35

It’s ok, but seems to be a very ‘of the moment’ name. There’s 3 in my NCT group, and a kitty.

Eolian · 04/02/2018 13:36

Love it. It was on our list for ds.

Bonnieb168 · 04/02/2018 13:38

Ah is that so, didn’t realise it was popular! I don’t know any other than a man in his 50s where it’s used as a nick name!

I taught a Kit. The name suited him. His mum called him Kit Kat and we had a joke about it being his chocolate!

I like it.

If you don't like Christopher there are also Christian, Christophe/ Kristof?

JaneJeffer · 04/02/2018 13:47

I just think Knight Rider!

caribari72 · 04/02/2018 13:49

The popularity of Game of Thrones! Is "Jon Snow" played by a not unhandsome guy called Kit?

mischiefinprogress · 04/02/2018 13:49

I like it! Probably increased in popularity lately because of Kit Harrington aka Jon Snow in Game of Thrones

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/02/2018 13:50

Like it, but not only as KIt. Needs to be short for something for me.

Winteriscoming18 · 04/02/2018 13:53

caribari72 How can you not say kit harington is not handsome Hmm

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 04/02/2018 13:57

The Rooneys have ruined it for me.

How about Kester? Could shorten to Kit or Kes?

@winter

She said “not UNhandsome”! I had to scroll back as was so incredulous that anyone could say he wasn’t handsome Grin!

nationalgeographicnovel · 04/02/2018 14:00

I love it but like a pp possibly influenced by knowing a Kit, who is awesome. It's short for Christopher but he never uses that.

thegreylady · 04/02/2018 14:03

Short for Kester perhaps (old form of Christopher)
I like Kit

treesaregreenandblue · 04/02/2018 14:20
