For a boy... but just as a name in its own right rather than a nick name for Christopher?

I just think of Knight Rider too (that was great!).

BabloHoney · 04/02/2018 16:17

Kit is a fabulous name! I wanted it for our son (partner said no)

DullAndOld · 04/02/2018 16:19

short for Christopher/Kester/Christian..fine, it's a cool name.

DullAndOld · 04/02/2018 16:20

as long as he wouldn't get called Kitty or Kitekat etc

daisypond · 04/02/2018 16:36

I wouldn't say it'd be good as a name in its own right. I like Kester, as mentioned earlier. Not heard of that. Crispin? Maybe nn Kip?

Elfyn · 04/02/2018 17:08

I have one, and I’m hearing it everywhere lately! Shock

Biased obviously but I love it.

Littlechocola · 04/02/2018 17:11

I have the knight rider tune in my head. I do like it though!

georgeoutside · 04/02/2018 17:23

I know of a teenaged kit. He is in DD's year at school. Literally everyone of the kids think his name is ridiculous.

MancUnicorn · 04/02/2018 17:54

I really like it

Bonnieb168 · 04/02/2018 17:57

Oh really @georgeoutside? That would be one of my worries! I do really like it still but I just don’t think I’m brave enough!

Thunderpunt · 04/02/2018 18:04

I know of a Kitt... and he is a truly beautiful boy - and I think the name is too.....

RickOShay · 04/02/2018 18:07

Yes, I wanted Christian, with Kit as nn. Boring boring dh vetoed.
And I had already sacrificed Gabriel.

caribari72 · 04/02/2018 19:39

Winteriscoming18 - I was trying to be clever with a double negative - KH is VERY handsome indeed! Grin

Foolish1 · 04/02/2018 20:02

Kit Harington cannot wrench his attention away from the middle distance for long enough to grow a proper beard. Kit is car driven by the Hoff

pipilangstrumpf · 04/02/2018 20:12

Kit sounds girly, like a kitty cat.

Also sounds a bit like pe kit.

So I'm not keen, sorry.

Sports Kit and Kit-e-Kat, but there's nothing wrong with it, just not my taste. You'll never please everyone! Kit is quite trendy and I'm guessing it's probably much more unusual to meet a young Chris these days!

UsernameInvalid66 · 05/02/2018 16:11

I quite like it but never seriously considered using it, because when I was naming children it was pretty much always short for Christopher, and I wouldn't use that name because of its religious meaning. I've since heard of a young man whose full name is Kitson and goes by Kit. That would be another way round it!

NewYearNiki · 07/02/2018 09:29

PE kit.
Gym kit.
Football kit

Etc

Not a fan

ladystarkers · 07/02/2018 09:33

Roonies

bluebabydinosaur · 07/02/2018 09:36

I like Kit a lot but would only have it as a nick name and not a full name.

MammieBear · 07/02/2018 10:08

Rhymes with s# that is all I think of now from when I spoke about this name with family, if you must go for something longer on the BC to give options.

Accountant222 · 07/02/2018 10:34

I like it

mogulfield · 07/02/2018 10:36

We’re thinking of Kit short for Christian here, we love it.

pipilangstrumpf · 07/02/2018 21:12

PE kit
