Any language or culture or era, except very American-type ones like surnames or states, or very unusual pronunciations.

user.................. I only knew male Dara’s growing up and even then I knew very few. But since I had my kids (past 13 years or so) it’s been very popular, there would be multiples (boys) in my primary school aged kids class. I’ve heard of 3 or 4 girls being called Dara that would now be under 5. There are several different ways of spelling Dara, but all the girls I’ve known that are called it have stuck to the Dara spelling.

There are quite a few pretty hawaaiin names that are unisex..

Koa is my fave!(other than the one I've chosen for my lil girl anyway!)

Also Kalua, Kanoa, Kai...

I noticed you liked Kit and so I've suggest other K names. And also they don't end with an ee sound Grin

CAAKE · 30/01/2018 18:47

We know a Torren (girl) but I like it for either sex.

Kellyturnbull · 30/01/2018 23:02

Finley
Riley
Charlie
Bobbi
Billie
Parker
Sawyer
Tate
Rae
Drew
These are all names of little ones I know of both sexes :)

myunicorn i actually know a female Michael. She likes her name but without fail every single person asks her about it or makes a comment.
CAA where is it from? What does it mean?

meem do you know any more. I'm not necessarily set in k's but I think you might be on to something generally. Kalua makes me think of the drink, I know at least six kai's, and kanoa is almost how some people pronounce quinoa. Grin
Someone IRL suggested something like Blessing or Professor or Happy, or similar commonly used unisex names from some parts of the globe, but I'm not sure I could do it unless something strikes me as appropriate on the day of the birth. Grin

Azariah
Linden
Jael
Merritt
Indigo
Ridley

user1485182339 · 31/01/2018 14:20

I quite like Linden misty. Makes me think of Lin...-female type names, and ...den-male type names. I might have to get over my irrational dislike of Lindsey for it.

Jodie and Courtney can both be boys names as well as girls names!

goldentriangle · 31/01/2018 14:43

I taught a female Evan recently, which I thought was quite nice.

CruCru · 31/01/2018 15:24

Daryl / Darrell

Tipmeupandpourmeout · 31/01/2018 15:29

Arlo

MikeUniformMike · 31/01/2018 19:28

Nuur

daisypond · 31/01/2018 19:55

Simone / Michele /Gabriele are male names in Italian but could be female in the UK (especially Simone). Or some colour names - like Blue or Indigo could be either. Plant names - such as Sorrel?

Winifredgoose10 · 31/01/2018 19:57

Sasha

Winifredgoose10 · 31/01/2018 19:59

When I was teaching around 10 years ago, I knew 2 male teenage Sashas(not Russian Alexanders), no girls. Now it seems to be more seen as a girls name. I really like it for both.

daisypond · 31/01/2018 20:09

Sasha is very nice. Kiri is a female name (from the Maori) but it's a male name in Finland. Or Kerry is both masculine and feminine.

LovelyBranches · 31/01/2018 20:50

Jupiter?

mnahmnah · 31/01/2018 20:56

Rafferty?

user1485182339 · 01/02/2018 07:22

Sasha might be a good option. I'll let it simmer. Rafferty is surely male? And Jupiter is truly male! Smile
daisy I would not mind a nature type name, but don't want to be too hippy. Sage?
Thanks to everyone for contributing. Please chuck some more at me!

Actually, scratch Sage. It won't travel well pronunciation-wise. Hmm
