Too Harry Potter

CedricDiggory · 06/01/2018 12:55

Definitely a no go imo

villainousbroodmare · 06/01/2018 13:01

Very Harry Pottery. Also sort of ancient, bulbous and floppy (probably thinking of egg white...)

uncoolnn · 06/01/2018 13:03

I like it but then I like HP Smile it's probably the first thing most people would think of when they hear Albus though so if this bothers you then no

headintheproverbial · 06/01/2018 13:08

I just think 'Dumbledore' immediately!

Emelene · 06/01/2018 13:08

Very HP, sorry. Albert might be usable if you like the sound? Also Remus but I wouldn't be daring enough!

IVflytrap · 06/01/2018 13:13

As a middle name, maybe. Don't think I'd use it as a first name.

How about Alban, as in the first British saint?

Itchytights · 06/01/2018 13:15

I immediately thought of Olibas as in the oil.

Not for me.

NurseJay · 06/01/2018 13:18

I LOVE it but I'm a harry potter geek! I want to call our girl Ginny but my partner doesn't agree lol

How about Aldous?

StopTheRoundabout · 06/01/2018 13:20

It sounds like the liquid you sniff when you have a stuffy nose.

OvO · 06/01/2018 13:22

Very Harry Potter but I love it anyway.

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 06/01/2018 13:25

Dumbledore :)!

It’s nice but yes... very Harry Potter.

What about Alfred or Albert?

doleritedinosaur · 06/01/2018 13:25

Only if you follow through with a load of middle name afterwards especially Brian.

My DS2 has got Brian has a middle name as he has quite a few with a nod to Dumbledore.

chewiecat · 06/01/2018 13:34

Omg I read that as aibus and thought that you must really love Mumsnet Grin

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 06/01/2018 13:45

Imo similar names are Alaric, Elio, Amos, Albert and August.

HannaSolo · 06/01/2018 13:47

Fine if you want his nickname to be Dumbledore for the rest of his life.....

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 06/01/2018 13:50

Love it! I wanted Albus for DS, but DH vetoed it 😃

EsmeeMerlin · 06/01/2018 13:53

I love Harry Potter so we named one of our cats Albus Grin

It is very Harry Potter

AnachronisticCorpse · 06/01/2018 13:54

Love it. There’s an Albie in Ds’s class, which is just lovely.

AnyaMoondial · 06/01/2018 14:08

Love it! Very hp though!

pieceofpurplesky · 06/01/2018 14:10

I was going to say Albie too.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 06/01/2018 14:12

Absolutely love it.

LemonysSnicket · 06/01/2018 14:12
