Your thoughts on my girls' names list please (and any other suggestions)

Alexandra
Jessica (probably won't use due to popularity)
Henrietta
Georgina
Lillian
Robyn
Lucinda
Lucille
Evelyn (like for middle rather than first name)

Any thoughts on this list? Which do you prefer, or dislike?

Any suggestions of similar names I might have missed? As you can see I like fairly traditional names. I ideally want to avoid top 20 names and also anything too short / cute (so have ruled out Isla, Ava, Eve, Eva, Evie, Lily, Mia etc)

I also quite like names like Aurelia and Cordelia, but not 100% sure as I find them quite 'frilly' .

I love Alexandra, Jessica and Georgina. Don't like Lucille much and find Henrietta quite clunky. Wouldn't Lillian end up as Lily anyway? There's always Lilith, if you're feeling brave!

CrestedTit · 04/01/2018 18:24

I like Jessica. Is it that popular?

Have you considered Harriet or Phillipa?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/01/2018 18:25

Don't love any i quite like Alexandra but it's not feminine enough for me.
Georgina see Alexandra.
Jessica is nice, but I much prefer Jess.
Robyn is okay.
Lillian is awful frumpy and clunky and harsh.
Henrietta. See Lillian
Don't like Lucinda. No reason other other that I just don't like the sound of it.
Lucille. See Lucinda.
Id say the nicest is Jessica.

Other suggestions.
Victoria. Claudia. Vivienne. Miriam. Matilda. Mabel. Natalia.

BrokenBattleDroid · 04/01/2018 18:28

I like Henrietta best.

Harriet too as suggested by a pp.

Mooveover · 04/01/2018 18:29

Yes Jessica was a top 10 name in 2016.
Not necessarily a deal-breaker, as I know the popularity of names can change massively over time, but is making me think twice.

Yes Harriet is a mUch prettier alternative to Henrietta.

PatchworkGirl · 04/01/2018 18:33

I like Georgina/Georgiana and Henrietta. Evelyn is pretty.

I love long girls' names that can be shortened to 'boyish' nicknames (Josephine March & George Kirrin influenced my childhood quite a lot :D ) so several of those would be on my list too.

Harriet is also nice.

Mooveover · 04/01/2018 18:36

I quite like Harriet, but I have the problem of knowing someone with that name so I really associate the name with that particular person.....

I love Robyn, it's on my list as it isn't too popular but has a lovely ring to it! Alexandra is very pretty too. I like Evelyn but beware of the other threads which show it can be pronounced a couple of different ways (depends where you are in the world too I guess).

Whenever I hear Henrietta I still think of that Fratellis song 'Henrietta there's no flowers for you....'

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/01/2018 18:38

Do you like Hannah it's not totally dissimilar to Harriet

Viviennemary · 04/01/2018 18:41

I don't dislike any of them. Lucille is probably my least favourite and I'm not overkeen on Jessica but they are both OK names. . I think I like Lillian and Alexandra best.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/01/2018 18:42

You might also like Cornelia.

lizzy5175 · 04/01/2018 19:21

I LOVE Alexandra, I feel like it's feminine but also very strong sounding.

I like Lilian but it will get shortened to Lilly or Lil when she is older, which I wouldn't mind but you might.

I also like Evelyn (pronounced Ev-eh-lin) but hear lots of people pronounce it (Eve-lin) which I'm not quite so keen on.

Have you considered Elizabeth?

Mooveover · 04/01/2018 19:54

I still have yet to see DH’s list.... Shock
