Fabulous name!

pickledsausage · 28/12/2017 20:07

Love this, it’s on my shortlist. Just need to convince DH. 40+2 today so not long left (I hope!!)

lifechangesforeverinjuly · 28/12/2017 21:21

I also love Ada.. but it's been met with scorn every time I've mentioned it so I've learned to keep shut now!

Beautiful name!

CisCucumber · 28/12/2017 21:22

Would be a fab name were it not for Ada Wells
That would put me off

PlumFairy2014 · 28/12/2017 21:24

I love it. My sister is an Ada and she's lovely. Grin

Joeybee · 28/12/2017 21:28

Lovely name but it puts me off that there's no nickname for it. I prefer Ava.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 28/12/2017 21:31

My MiL was an Ada but known as Mary. I think Ada is far cooler. My boss is also an Ada, she's in her 20s.

XmasTreeOhXmasTree · 28/12/2017 21:38

I quite like it but I think there would be a lifetime of mispronunciation. 'Aye da' vs 'A da'.

Orangeseed · 28/12/2017 21:47

I really like it

Lentilbaby · 28/12/2017 22:04

Love it

FairfaxAikman · 28/12/2017 22:09

I love it. Was tip of my girls list but DH hates it so we are going with something else (providing it's a girl)

Mrsknackered · 28/12/2017 22:09

Really love it

FairfaxAikman · 28/12/2017 22:11

I should add I love is because of Ada Lovelace. I like kick ass women and DH works in IT so seemed appropriate

Turnturnturn2 · 28/12/2017 22:11

I used to love Ava but there are so many Avas around now.

Sorry but I'm not keen. I dont like all
the old granny names like Ivy, Mabel and Ada.

user1471451564 · 28/12/2017 22:13

Yep my little one is an Ada but we went with the biblical spelling of Adah.

DramaAlpaca · 28/12/2017 22:13

I'm going against the general trend on the thread here, but I find it dowdy & frumpy. I normally like short, neat names but I'm not a fan of that one.

I much prefer Ava.

FoggieFishieCarpeDiem · 28/12/2017 22:14

Love it.

Prefer it to Adeline, Adelaide and Ava, btw.

Imstickingwiththisone · 28/12/2017 22:15

I thought it was pronounced 'Ay-da'. Have never heard it pronounced differently?

punkpuffin · 28/12/2017 22:18

I hate it sorry.

Buntysoven · 28/12/2017 22:18

Lovely. My friend's got a gorgeous one!

MmmmmmBop · 28/12/2017 22:19

But Cis the real wells Ada Wells was amazing. I hate that that awful man has literally ruined her good name Sad

MmmmmmBop · 28/12/2017 22:21

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ada_Wells Sorry, autocorrect ruined my link!

Lollipop30 · 28/12/2017 22:23

Love it. Was on my list too

MountainVista · 28/12/2017 22:25

I liked it, OH didn't. Keep in mind that with 'Ava' being so popular, your DD may need to correct people who mishear, especially at school. Or she may develop excellent annunciation! Smile
