Opinions on Guy and Gregory?

I’d never considered either of these before, but Dh has just suggested them for dc2 (due January) and I actually think I really like them. I’ve never met a child with either name, so wonder what others think?

We’d also consider Gregor, though neither of us is Scottish, so don’t know if that would work. I’m (mainly) Irish (it’s rather complicated). Dh is English.

I’ve suggested Giles, Miles and Gus (Angus or Fergus on bc), but Dh isn’t keen on them.

I have a lovely colleague named Gregory (always Greg) but personally I prefer Gregor.

I know a lovely mum whose youngest is Guy, short for Gaius! Think that is pretty fab!

Gregory was my house at school (they were all named after saints with Midlands associations, this was Gregory the Great!)

I think I prefer Guy. But both are solid names.

I keep reading Giles with a hard ‘g’ sound because of Guy and Gregory 😂
I like Gregory, I’m less keen on Guy but if I knew you I’d probably get used to it quickly enough.
