As the title suggests really

I'm 36 weeks pregnant with my first baby and DP and I cannot agree on any boys names - not a single one

Girls names aren't an issue we have a shortlist - Anna, Clara etc......

I love the name Robbie but DP hates it and his only suggestion has been Benjamin which I really don't like Confused

I like quiet short, kind of classic names which don't date as such and can't really be shortened to a nn. Nothing too modern or popular - easy peasy I don't know why cant agree Hmm

Any suggestions welcome

I also like James which is DP middle name however last two baby boys born to people I know have been called James. We're not close tho so still a possibility

I love Liam but am reluctant to use for reasons I won't go into. Not keen on Henry but warming to Harry or Harris

David is nice but loads in both sides

I'd quiet like a Scottish name but not Andrew as this is DP

I was the same with DC1, we had the perfect girls name picked out. Could not agree on a boys name at all, DH vetoed every one I liked and couldn’t come up with any he liked!! Fortunately we found a name at the 11th hour (2 days before my waters broke) so of course, we had a boy 😂😂

puddleduckmummy · 18/11/2017 13:03

What about Fraser?

Carolwithane · 18/11/2017 13:20

Hhhhhmmm Fraser?

I quite like Boyd, Ross and Innes - don't "love" any of them tho

This is so difficult! Nearly as hard as 9 months without wine Grin

We were the opposite. We had a boys name chosen from when I was 5 months pregnant, but couldn't agree on a girls name. I really liked a name, but no one else did, not even my dh.
We had a boy, so it didn't matter in the end anyway. But if we have a girl in the future, I'm not sure what will happen, as I still like the same girls name..
Good luck. I hope you can come to a decision.

fleurjasmine · 18/11/2017 13:39

Scottish names I like are Hamish and Angus. I also like Nicholas and Louis.

GinwithCucumber · 18/11/2017 13:43

I love the name Robbie! It's classic but not over used right now.

I know! Robbie is my absolute favourite I love it and could cry that he won't budge - usually so easy going to.......

Some excellent suggestions for alternatives tho! What do you think of Rhuaridh rather than Rory or Darragh?

I was going to say Ruaridh but thought it didn't meet the criteria :)

user1498549192 · 18/11/2017 14:57

Anna and Clara were both on our girls' list, and we had Edward, Joseph, Hamish or Angus for a boy... Any good?

puddleduckmummy · 18/11/2017 15:38

We had Angus picked as a boys name for DC2, but had a girl. Would use it in future if we had a boy

Jay or Jamie instead of James? Some lovely suggestions here! Congrats on your baby x

LarkDescending · 18/11/2017 17:02

Robin instead of Robbie?

Or else - Reuben, Rupert?

rosy71 · 18/11/2017 17:08

We had a girl's name decided on but couldn't choose a boy's. We chose ds1's name when he was born. 2nd time round we didn't bother too much in advance. Ds2- who is called Robbie 😊- had no name for quite a while.
