I love Audrey or Madison. :)

Minster2012 · 17/11/2017 06:45

I think it goes with your other names lovely 😁

SuperBeagle · 17/11/2017 06:47

Nooo. Agnes is so dreary.

Agatha is fractionally better.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 17/11/2017 06:47

Aren't Margot and Agnes two of the girls from Despicable Me? That would put me off. Also, don't like Aggie as a nickname.

icantgetnosleep5 · 17/11/2017 06:52

Crap, hdnt thought about the despicable me characters! Knowing my luck they'd bring out yet another film right before my due date too!
Not a fan of Aggie Confused but I like Ness/ Nessa

I really really like Agnes! I don't like Aggie but you could use Agnes couldn't you?

DD has a name that is often shortened/has a common nickname. We have never shortened it or used anything other than her given name. If anyone calls her anything else she will tell them 'my name is 'given name' ', always has done, ever since she could speak!

GlacindaTheTroll · 17/11/2017 07:00

How about Nerissa, which could shorten to Nessie?

(though that would make your full brood spell out MOAN, so you could never use just initials in a card)

AnyaMoondial · 17/11/2017 07:07

Ooooh Agatha is fabulous, I absolutely love it!!! I can't think of an nn though.

Potcallingkettle · 17/11/2017 07:10

How about Vanessa. I know a lovely six year old called this with Nessa for every day.

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/11/2017 07:18

I like Agnes it has a similar feel to Enid and Edith both which are names i also like. I like Agatha too. Strong, fiesty, battleaxe names lol

Lobsterquadrille2 · 17/11/2017 07:35

What about Elsie? I love your other names but Agnes sounds much "harder" somehow, whereas even the hard "g" in Margot doesn't have the same feel because of the softer second syllable.

horriblehistorieswench · 17/11/2017 07:46

What about Ines? I’ve got an Italian Granny-in-law called Ines & she tells me it’s Italian form of Agnes

magpiemay · 17/11/2017 07:49

I love Agnes!

bridgetreilly · 17/11/2017 08:38

I really like Agnes and Agatha.

You could also consider Annis.

Branleuse · 17/11/2017 08:49

I quite like it

HolyShet · 17/11/2017 08:53

Love all your DDs names
LOVE Agnes
My fantasy fourth child is called Astrid, similar vibe

HolyShet · 17/11/2017 08:54

Also Isolde/Iseult or Angharad

(Ness for a nn is cute for Agnes)

HolyShet · 17/11/2017 08:55

Ursula

nn Sula

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 17/11/2017 12:28

Margot, Olive, Alba and Stella.

CakeRattleandRoll · 17/11/2017 12:34

I really like Agnes.

Mooey89 · 17/11/2017 12:40

What about Iris/Ivy/Violet/Agatha/Isla/Betsy/Eliza...
I love all the older sounding names but when I was younger we lived in a pub and it had a (or we were told it had!) ghost - and she was called Agnes! So no no no to Agnes from me!

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2017 13:01

I prefer the French pronunciation but I like the English version all the same.

Can’t bear Agatha though - ugly.

PandaCat · 17/11/2017 16:18

I think it goes well with your other names but as someone else mentioned the sisters in Despicable Me would put me off.

I like Ivy, and Vanessa nn Nessa sounds quite nice too.

undertheradarplease · 17/11/2017 18:34

I have a Margo (no T) and Agnes was my plan b. I adore it, and Aggie is a really cute nn.

Congrats, OP Flowers

daisypond · 17/11/2017 18:52

I quite like Agnes. But Aggie is horrid. I like the Spanish form better - Ines. Or the Italian - Agnese. The old pronunciation used to be Annis, and you could write it like this, or Annice. I think they're really nice.
