...or suggest your own.

We're not finding out the sex so need names for both.

Girls

1)Elena Louise
2) Georgia Louise
3) Elizabeth Louise, nickname Libby
... Possibly 4) Libby Louise

Boys

  1. Thomas
  2. George
  3. Tommy

Also like Seth and Jax.

Any suggestions/opinions welcome..its driving me mad

Elizabeth Louise (Libby Lou nn) and Thomas (nn Tommy)

Intercom · 09/11/2017 11:54

Georgia Elizabeth

George ?

(not George Thomas as too similar to John Thomas 😳)

MrsHathaway · 09/11/2017 11:56

I'd use Elizabeth Louise, though I'm not hugely fond of Libby and prefer the Beth/Betsy derivatives.

HOWEVER I think Elena is just totally lovely and I wish I weren't so safe.

Would you consider the Juliet/Harriet/Sukey/Posey type names? A bit Chalet School?

I prefer George over Thomas/Tommy but there's not a lot in it. I dislike Georgia mainly because I find George so masculine!

Seth is cool and although I'd not use it myself I would like it on someone else's son. Jax ... no.

I think your boy names all fit into the "east end gangster" group which is very popular at the moment. Other similar names from my children's classes would include Wilf, Albert, Reggie, Ronnie, Reuben, Nathan.

Libby and George. Classics.
I dislike Georgia and Louise because of people I've known ( so entirely unimportant).

They're all beautiful names, so it's hard to choose, but I'm going to go with Elena Louise, with Georgia a close runner up.

For boys, Thomas, nn Tommy. I also like Seth, though. How about Thomas with Seth as a middle name?

DramaAlpaca · 09/11/2017 12:21

Elizabeth & Thomas

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 09/11/2017 12:24

I like Georgia Louise. We have a Jemima Louise, so suppose it’s similar sounding.

Love Jax!

helpmum2003 · 09/11/2017 12:27

Elizabeth Louise
Thomas or George

NameChangeFamousFolk · 09/11/2017 12:28

George

AnyaMoondial · 09/11/2017 12:30

Elena Louise and Seth. Perfect!

Chaffinch4 · 09/11/2017 12:34

Yes, Elena Louise or Seth!

Kazzawazza69 · 09/11/2017 13:08

Girls - Libby Louise is nice, followed by Georgia Louise. Not keen on Elizabeth or Elena personally.

Boys - Jax and Seth are quite cool. Thomas and George are a bit traditional for me as first names but great middle names especially Thomas. Seth Thomas would get my vote I think.

George and Elizabeth.

OP,

Elena Louise

Thomas Seth / Seth Thomas

  • Elena Elise would be my suggestion for an alternative: (Elise with the Eh-LEEZ pronunciation, not the Eh-LICE I heard the other day!!).

Elena and Elise are both less used, very pretty, and I think the combination really works well. Might be tricky if your surname starts with an 'E', too, mind you... Smile

cherryontopp · 09/11/2017 16:05

So it's either Elena Louise or Elizabeth Louise?

Mine and my mum's middle name is Louise so want my little girl to have it as her middle name too.

I do like Thomas, Thomas Patrick?

missyB1 · 09/11/2017 16:08

Elizabeth and Thomas

Thomas Patrick is perfect- as I have boys with both of those names Grin

RavenWings · 09/11/2017 16:13

Jax is slang for toilet in Ireland, so I wouldn't want that.

Thomas Patrick and Elena Louise are lovely!

hungryradish · 09/11/2017 16:20

Elena & George :)

boredofmyoldname · 09/11/2017 16:23

Elena - I love this and considered it for DD but DH didn't like it. I know 2 under 5, 1 is Ee-lay-na and the other is Ellen-a but I much prefer the former pronunciation.

Thomas is lovely too Smile

cherryontopp · 09/11/2017 16:40

Thanks everyone. I don't know anyone who has got an Elena but do know someone with a Thomas, but I don't see her so I'm not too bothered Grin

I know two Elenas one pronounces it el leen ah the other el len nah. I don't know if both are standard pronouciations?
Out of the names you mentioned I love Elisabeth and Thomas.

euanthesheepiloveyou · 09/11/2017 16:55

Libby & Seth are lovely.
Not Jax. Never Jax. It's awful & sounds like a cleaning product.

MrsHathaway · 09/11/2017 17:20

Thomas Patrick is great.
