I would like it more had not the ghastly Russell Brand called his child that. On principal, I would avoid it simply because he used the name. However, your DH needs to like the name, too.

cowssheephens · 30/10/2017 19:38

Love it.

RavenWings · 30/10/2017 20:42

No, I think it's awful.

AnyaMoondial · 30/10/2017 20:43

It's cute.

eastlondoner · 30/10/2017 20:51

I really like it but decided against it for our daughter as we thought kids at school might sing "maybe it's Mabelline" at her!

greendale17 · 30/10/2017 20:56

No I don’t like it either

SuperBeagle · 30/10/2017 21:05

DD2's middle name is Maybellene. After the song by Chuck Berry, not the brand. DH wanted it as her first name, but I don't think he realises just how big the brand is. Grin

DramaAlpaca · 30/10/2017 21:09

As 'granny chic' names go it's not too bad, but I'm not mad on it.

It's no good anyway if your DH isn't keen.

Doubletrouble42 · 30/10/2017 21:16

I love it, desperately wanted no name my last DD Mabel but OH overruled as he hated it. Still think about it wistfully....

Mulch · 30/10/2017 21:18

Lovely name for a cat

babsthebuilder · 30/10/2017 21:21

Love it

pingoose · 30/10/2017 21:23

I like it! Also have met three baby Mabels in the past year, so I think it's becoming more popular.

PaperdollCartoon · 30/10/2017 21:24

I like it a lot.

Passthecake30 · 30/10/2017 21:25

I don't like it at all

MoanerChopsis · 30/10/2017 21:26

Makes me think of 'Mad About You'!! Their baby was called Mabel, as an acronym for Mothers Always Bring Extra Love.

Which might make you like the name more or absolutely ruin it for you Grin

BexleyRae · 30/10/2017 21:29

Love it

PandaCat · 30/10/2017 21:43

I like it, agree with others though, it's no good if your husband really doesn't like it.

itsasecret1 · 31/10/2017 10:43

Its lovely.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 31/10/2017 10:46

It's fine although I know 2 born this year so perhaps it's gaining popularity.

squirrelonapetridish · 31/10/2017 10:52

Also wanted to call dd it but dh thought it was too granny... I love it.

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 31/10/2017 10:54

Personally I like it, but it’s a marmite name. Be prepared for criticism from others.

minipie · 31/10/2017 10:57

Very marmite. I used to really like it but now find it quite frumpy.

Molly?

NoParticularPattern · 31/10/2017 10:59

I like the name but sadly parents have a dog called Mabel so it’s definitely a no. Doesn’t help that the dog is a little shite so it doesnt exactly evoke adorable little girl name feelings!!

badg3r · 31/10/2017 11:00

In the same boat as Martha and Mary. It isn't awful but it's really not very good either - a bit granny chic and at risk of becoming very popular I think.

BernardBlacksHangover · 31/10/2017 11:52

I love it!
