Wilfred vs Reginald

Please help us decide between Wilfred and Reginald!!

Love the variety of nicknames with Wilfred but am really not keen on the nickname Reggie, I prefer Reg. I don’t know why I just feel it’s a bit everywhere at the moment. Plus a lady ruined it for me the other day when I heard her shout Reggie but pronounced it REJAYYY. Sad

Thanks in advance Smile

Much prefer Wilfred. Makes me think of Wilfred Owen and has much better nicknames.

I love Wilfred and the nicknames you get with this name. I like Reginald too but I would be inclined to nickname him Reggie.

If you like all the nicknames that come with Wilfred, then that would be my choice.

ScarletSienna · 25/10/2017 22:03

Wilfred. All it’s shortenings are similar in style whereas Reggie and Reg have a different feel to the full name (plus I really don’t like it anyway!).

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 25/10/2017 22:27

Reginald, love Reg/Reggie.

DramaAlpaca · 25/10/2017 22:29

They aren't my style of name, but of the two I'd choose Wilfred. I don't like Reginald at all.

Imabanana · 25/10/2017 22:30

Definitely Wilfred. Love if

SuperBeagle · 25/10/2017 22:31

I prefer Reggie to Wilf, but think that Wilfred has made more of a comeback than Reginald, which makes it a less polarising name.

iamdazedandconfused · 25/10/2017 22:35

Love Wilfred/Wilf Smile

Sophronia · 25/10/2017 23:23

Wilfred

FreeFrie · 25/10/2017 23:37

Wilfred is really nice I think!

Jojopugh · 25/10/2017 23:50

Wilfred is cool shortened wilf 😀

sonlypuppyfat · 25/10/2017 23:55

Wilf wilf? Are you all off another planet? It's bloody awful

Ttbb · 25/10/2017 23:57

My husband tell me that Reginald is very 'common' in Britain.

SoNouveau · 26/10/2017 00:04

They are both old man names and a bit ugly in my opinion.
The spelling is slightly different but Wilfred always makes me think of old man Steptoe who was Wilfrid Brambell.

Buntysoven · 26/10/2017 00:06

Wilf is my mum's Irish wolfhound who is a sweetheart so I vote Wilfred

VonHerrBurton · 26/10/2017 00:07

Wilf/Wilfred sorry dislike immensely.

Reg I love, for all ages, cute baby to grown man.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 26/10/2017 00:09

Wilfred, always Wilfred. Read the Wilf threads on here and then dare you to not choose it Smile

DaisyRaine90 · 26/10/2017 00:41

Wilfred 😊 Freddie for short 😘

AnyaMoondial · 26/10/2017 02:15

Wilfred. Wilf is gorgeous as nn.

KoalaD · 26/10/2017 02:24

Adore both Reggie and Wilf but Wilf is preferable

Ploppie4 · 26/10/2017 06:24

Also if you like Reg what about Rex. I adore Rex

Ploppie4 · 26/10/2017 06:25

There’s also Ronnie
