Eric or Archie?

Which do you prefer?

Eric is a family name and DP really likes it.

I've always had a soft spot for Archie.

Surname: Black

We're not pregnant yet but hope to be soon!

Eric. Archie sounds like it should be short for something.

Eric Black sounds very cool.

Definitely prefer Eric. Eric Black sounds like a cool name that can work both on a child and a grown man.

ohhelpohnoitsa · 16/10/2017 23:17

ERIC no question

sonlypuppyfat · 16/10/2017 23:19

Eric as in Eric and Ernie?

TatianaLarina · 17/10/2017 00:20

Quite.

As in Eric Sykes - it’s an old man’s name.

stopbeingadramallama · 17/10/2017 00:26

I love the name Eric!

DiegoMadonna · 17/10/2017 00:41

It's gone from 234th in the ONS national rankings to 147th in the last five years, and most of the replies on here have been positive about it, so I'm pretty sure it's not going to be an old man's name for much longer.

Names are cyclical and Eric is definitely on its way back in

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 17/10/2017 01:56

Archie

Joeybee · 17/10/2017 03:30

Prefer Archie, but Archibald on birth cert.

Littlebear88 · 17/10/2017 04:01

My son is Erik and he's a darling so definitely Eric!

whoareyoukidding · 17/10/2017 04:38

I've always liked Erik with a 'K', cool name.
