Need help adapting my dad's name

When I was pregnant with our first baby we were planning on having my Dad's name as the middle name if a boy, or his Mum's name (my man) if a girl. Then we changed our minds about the first name for a boy and it no longer fitted. Now I'm pregnant with our second and last night my DH said he thought my Dad would be really disappointed about missing out on the baby's name if it's a girl. He suggested we put the two names together, which would make June-Bob.
Hmm
(Can one o' y'all pass the fried chick'n an' grits?) [shudders]
I've no objection to trying to get my Dad's name into the middle somewhere, just need to make it sound more feminine. Bobby/Bobbi or Bobette aren't options.
Has anyone heard of any feminised versions of 'bob'? English or otherwise?

Could you take the Jun from June, and the O from Bob to make Juno? The Oo sound from June and the R and B of Robert to make Ruby? Both a bit of a stretch, but could work if you are generous about it.

Bobby June?
It's not a style of name I considered for my own, but I once taught a lovely girl called Bobby-Jo and the name kind of stick with me Smile

Bubblysqueak · 16/10/2017 20:02

Bobby-june sounds better.

Bob doesn't really morph into something nice for a girl I don't think.

I'd probably go with Bo as a nod to Bob without it being too forced.

MikeUniformMike · 16/10/2017 20:21

Robbi/Bobbie/Bobbi, Robyn, Roberta or Robina known as Roby or Ruby

Liadain · 16/10/2017 20:34

I am sorry but June-Bob is just Grin

I agree with pps on Bo, Roberta or Bobbi June.

Robert (I'm guessing he's a Robert) apparently means bright and shining...could you go for names with the same meaning? I feel it's a bit contrived personally as it's not his name, but it gives you options.

bridgetreilly · 16/10/2017 20:57

Roberta is lovely, and if he's a Robert then that's a very obvious nod to him.

ManInTheMoonMarigold · 16/10/2017 21:12

Obelia
Bojana

Sophronia · 16/10/2017 21:16

June Roberta or Juno Roberta?

hanluna · 16/10/2017 22:43

There is a young actress called Millie Bobby Brown which I thinks really sweet. I would say Robyn is the best option if you don't like Bobby

Ilovechocolate111 · 16/10/2017 22:49

My best friend is called Bobbin.
I think it's a lovely name. Bobbin June. Smile

Marcipex · 17/10/2017 15:22

Bojun is unbeatable :)

Yes, Robin/Robin are nice and normal.

Juno Robyn?

I actually quite like June although I know it may be a generation too soon for a revival if that kind of thing bothers you!

Chaffinch4 · 17/10/2017 17:14

June is lovely. I think either Roberta or Robin as a middle name would be nice.

June Roberta is probably best to avoid it sounding like you're describing a robin in June!

2014newme · 17/10/2017 17:16

Are you sure your dad would not prefer your child to have a lovely name than these cobbles together hillbilly options?

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 17/10/2017 17:19

I had an Aunt Roberta, she was known as Bo.

Shockers · 17/10/2017 17:19

I can picture Bobette. She'd have bouncy pigtails, dungarees and a mischievous grin.
