Yes

early30smum · 02/10/2017 19:52

Absolutely! Great name.

cupoftea12 · 02/10/2017 19:53

I know of a few early twenties Hermiones, they're all extremely posh. None younger than that, probably because of the HP connection, though I'm sure they exist!

It's a beautiful name with a Shakespearean history!

lalaloopyhead · 02/10/2017 19:53

I wouldn't, only thing I think of is Harry Potter. Soz.

scrabbler3 · 02/10/2017 19:57

I think of Hermione Norris, which is a good thing.

I'm not a HP fan though - never read/seen it. The only thing I know about the character is that Emma Watson portrayed her.

SparklingBollox · 02/10/2017 19:58

Why wouldn't it be? Yes, there is a well known character of that name, but it would be silly not to use a name for that reason.

AmethystRaven · 02/10/2017 20:02

I know a 7 year old Hermione and she is lovely. Kind, caring, polite and cheerful. Do it!

Bazinga1234 · 02/10/2017 20:03

DD was at preschool with a Hermione.

I am a huge HP fan and i love it.

I would love to use Molly for a girl (from Molly Weasley) but DH works with a horrible girl called Molly so that's spoilt it a bit 😔

strawberrypenguin · 02/10/2017 20:04

Yes! It’s lovely

iogo · 02/10/2017 20:06

My daughter is called Hermione. I love her name (obviously) but she loves her name too. ❤❤

Use it.

Blueberrysandgrapes76 · 02/10/2017 20:13

I do like this name but the lack of nick names bothers me - what do you call her for short??

MikeUniformMike · 02/10/2017 20:19

Yes

Mrsknackered · 02/10/2017 20:24

Yes! It is a more unusual than Harry but the HP connection doesn't seem to put off the thousands of parents with Harry's.

Hermione Norris is a good namesake.

MarthaArthur · 02/10/2017 20:27

Even if there is a harry potter connection Hermione Granger is a great character. So totally usable. And yes to Hermione Norris.

1900LB · 02/10/2017 20:31

@Blueberrysandgrapes76 why does everyone need a nickname nowadays? Probably 80% of the people I know don't have nicknames and it's never bothered them!

BossWitch · 02/10/2017 20:32

My dd's middle name is Hermione. I love it but wasn't quite brave enough to try to use it for the first name! I love hp so thought it might be a bit too much. I wouldn't think anything other than 'cool!' if I met a little girl with the name.

Blueberrysandgrapes76 · 02/10/2017 20:41

It's just a bit long to keep saying without a nn

Coey2016 · 02/10/2017 20:45

Yes def. know a 4 year old hermione and I think it's a beautiful name

SuperBeagle · 02/10/2017 20:57

It's not usable, IMO, but I'm a massive Harry Potter fan and had never heard of Hermione before Hermione Granger.

EasterRobin · 02/10/2017 21:01

Absolutely. Go for it.

HalloweenStar · 02/10/2017 21:26

Who cares what anyone else thinks. But she might get fed up if someone shouts out ten points to Gryffindor every time she gets a question right in class

But seriously, if you like it then use it don't let a fictional character get in the way

Redpramlady · 02/10/2017 21:27

Love it

Lemondrop99 · 02/10/2017 22:24

Yes! Great name. Do it.

And Hermione Granger is a great association (bright, brave, loyal, true to herself) if people make the Potter connection

MollyHuaCha · 02/10/2017 22:25

Lovely name. And because of HP everyone knows how to pronounce it. Smile

Sophronia · 02/10/2017 22:30

Yes
