So since my family found out I was pregnant, my mum has had an obsession with the name Malakai! I hated it and laughed it off to start with but it's actually really growing on me... what's everyone's opinions? I'm due 14/09/18!!

Surely that isnt the correct spelling?

juneybean · 28/09/2017 20:54

You're due when??

moralberyll · 28/09/2017 20:54

I like it!

TheMasterNotMargarita · 28/09/2017 20:54

I really like but I would spell it Malachi.

Malachi

MaidenMotherCrone · 28/09/2017 20:54

Are you an elephant? That's one heck of a gestation period.

Prefer the Malachai spelling

Bubblebubblepop · 28/09/2017 20:55

I'd spell it malachy, or at least malchi. Don't like the K. Like the name though

endofthelinefinally · 28/09/2017 20:55

It is Hebrew name.
I have only ever seen it spelt Malachi.
Unless yours is a different one I have never heard of.
Happy to be corrected.

NauticalDisaster · 28/09/2017 20:55

It makes me of think of Children of the Corn by Stephen King!

2014newme · 28/09/2017 20:56

You're not spelling it right!

Bubblebubblepop · 28/09/2017 20:56

My a's have gone. Malachi

It means Angel or Messenger (from God).
I like the name.

C0untDucku1a · 28/09/2017 20:57

Please spell it properly. And also id question your dates.

LoyaltyAndLobster · 28/09/2017 20:57

Honest opinion, I don't like it.

C0untDucku1a · 28/09/2017 20:58

Put Malachi is a great name.

WaitrosePigeon · 28/09/2017 20:59

It's not nice.

queenofthedump · 28/09/2017 21:00

I would have considered Malachi (spelt correctly) but not keen on the nicknames Mal or Kai so it's a no from me.

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 28/09/2017 21:00

Okay, I guess you've made a typo on your due date 😂 I like Malachi, but not your spelling, sorry!

BikeRunSki · 28/09/2017 21:08

I like it.

I know 2 people called Malachi (one pronounced Mala Kai; on pronounced Mala Key) and another called Malachy. (Mala key)

shaaan1329 · 28/09/2017 21:08

Sorry I meant 14/01/18, no need for the sarcastic comments about an innocent typo.

It is originally spelt Malachi yes, but I like different names and I thought it was a nice twist

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 28/09/2017 21:09

No.

Just think of that child.

shaaan1329 · 28/09/2017 21:09

@2014newme there's no 'right' way to spell a name anymore, it's down to preference.. I haven't spelt it the traditional way but that doesn't mean it's wrong..

PotteringAlong · 28/09/2017 21:10

Spelling it incorrectly isn't a nice twist, it's setting them up for a lifetime of having their name misspelt!

I like Malachi.
