Just that really. Ds is named but I can't help feeling I should have been brave and give for the one I loved most.

Atticus, Ezra or Theodore?

How old is your Ds? Are you thinking of changing it?

Fwiw, I prefer Ezra of the three, but all are nice.

dontpokethebear · 27/09/2017 21:24

I have a Theodore (which is a bit of a marmite name on mn). DD would have been Ezra had she been a boy.
I put forward Atticus, TKAMB is a favourite book, but husband vetoed it.

Fishcalledlola · 27/09/2017 21:25

Wish I'd had an Atticus. Too late now.

Alexkate2468 · 27/09/2017 21:26

He's just under a year old. I'm not going to change it... Just having a pondering moment about reactions to the name I've chosen as opposed to names I want brave enough to use...

It's the TKAM thing here too. Love it.

I'm going to guess you used Theodore as it's the most 'mainstream' All are lovely names OP, Atticus is a bit too out there for me but I would quite happily name my child any of them (although I would worry my very working class father would guffaw me out of the room if I brought his grandson Atticus down to the local social club he resides🙈)

ivenoideawhatimdoing · 27/09/2017 21:32

DS was going to be Moses or Grayson.

My heart lay with Moses but I thought it would be 'more sensible' to call him Grayson.

I've never been the sensible kind of person.

Called him Moses and braced for the backlash. If I had a pound for the number of times people have asked me are we religious or made an unfunny joke I'd be a wealthy lady.

Calling him anything else sounds bizarre now.

Ezra

Ttbb · 27/09/2017 21:36

Atticus! Not enough of those around imo

NuffSaidSam · 27/09/2017 21:37

I like Ezra best.

Atticus is nice, but not nice enough imo. Too 'attic-y'.

Theodore is nice too, but Theo is too popular and there is also the 'Fee-o-door' pronunciation issue.

euanthesheepiloveyou · 27/09/2017 21:38

Atticus, Ezra & Theodore in that order.

DiegoMadonna · 27/09/2017 22:00

ivenoideawhatimdoing Moses is soooooo much nicer than Grayson!!

OP I really love all three of the names. I'd veto Theodore for being so currently popular, Ezra is my favourite but then that's also on a huge upswing so I'd probably go with Atticus.

mimiholls · 27/09/2017 22:02

Atticus is lovely

Janus · 27/09/2017 22:04

I wanted my son’s middle name to be Atticus but couldn’t persuade dh! I love it!

Alexkate2468 · 27/09/2017 22:11

At least everyone seems to like the names so I don't feel like I made a big mistake. Atticus is the one I loved bit want brave enough for.
Maybe I need a 3rd baby 😊

*but wasn't brave enough to use.

Ezra

pipilangstrumpf · 28/09/2017 07:51

Atticus is cool and interesting! Love it. Ezra is nice too. Theodore/Theo is a little dull in comparison imo.

MonkeyJumping · 28/09/2017 08:00

I always say this but really it's not you that needs to be brave about an unusual name....

SumAndSubstance · 28/09/2017 11:12

That's quite an eclectic mix... I think I would have to pick Ezra.

MadisonAvenue · 28/09/2017 11:15

Atticus. To Kill A Mockingbird is my favourite book but the name never crossed my mind when naming our sons.

PersisFord · 28/09/2017 11:18

Also have you read the sequel? It changed my feelings about Atticus Finch...

FindTheLightSwitchDarren · 28/09/2017 11:22

Yes, Atticus Finch turning out to be slightly racist might put me off naming a baby after him!

I kind of wish they hadn't published that one, but hey ho.

SumAndSubstance · 28/09/2017 11:23

Persis, yes, it seems odd to me that there seems to have been an explosion of interest in the name Atticus (who will always be Cicero's correspondent to me) after the release of "Go set a watchman".

IHeartKingThistle · 28/09/2017 11:23

See I love TKAM but wouldn't use Atticus on a real human child. DS eats with his mouth open and leaves wee on the toilet seat - Atticus Finch is far too classy for those things!

Feels like a bit of a hipster name. Sorry hipsters.
