Opinions on Callie/Cally. I like it as it's relatively normal, easier to pronounce and spell but I don't think it's too popular.

I like it we use it as a nickname short for Calista for dd2 so I may be a teeny bit biased Smile

17caterpillars1mouse · 24/09/2017 19:11

Love it. Spelt Callie only though, Cally doesn't look right to me

I don't think it needs a longer name, not that you asked but I saw a pp had mentioned Callista

AmethystRaven · 24/09/2017 19:11

I really like it. Unusual but not 'out there'.

alltouchedout · 24/09/2017 19:13

I like it a lot. I had a hamster called Callie when I was young, too :)

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 24/09/2017 19:13

Calista is a lovely name. DS is called Jack, would Calista go? DH loves Callie as it is but I'm going to be putting Calista to him!

I know someone with a Callie and for some reason I always forget her name. I also know someone with a Hallie and another with a Harley and I have to catch myself before I use their name to make sure I have the right one.

Chaffinch4 · 24/09/2017 19:15

I know one. Short for Caroline, which I also like.

MikeUniformMike · 24/09/2017 19:15

I prefer the spelling Cally. It could be short for Caroline/Carolina/Calista. All very pretty names.

stopbeingadramallama · 24/09/2017 19:19

I like it

PotteringAlong · 24/09/2017 19:21

I like it too. I'd make it short for Caroline.

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 24/09/2017 19:21

Thanks everyone. I just needed some opinions. I hate asking people in RL. They always have strong opinions and makes you not want to go for certain names. If rather not tell anyone the name until she's here and then they don't have much to say

I like it very much, but would have Calista, Calliope or Caroline on the BC.

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 24/09/2017 19:27

DD is known as Callie. It's just rare enough to be unusual, without being too out-there and weird.

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 24/09/2017 19:29

@FrancisCrawford would it be sad if I admitted that I got it from Grey's?

loobybear · 24/09/2017 19:29

I love it!

ChocolateCrunch · 24/09/2017 19:32

Yes, love it! Probably as Callie, but like Cally too, and Calista and Calliope!

yantantethermetherpimp · 24/09/2017 19:32

It's lovely!

Ktown · 24/09/2017 19:35

I love calliope
Calls for short?

Ktown · 24/09/2017 19:35

Pronounced
Call ee oh pee

DeliciouslyHella · 24/09/2017 19:36

I like Callie. But only that spelling - Cally just reminds me of a certain part of north London.

purplemunkey · 24/09/2017 19:37

I really like it. There's a character in CSI Miami named this, spelt Calleigh, so just a name in itself not a nickname.

MrsMotherHen · 24/09/2017 19:37

I love that name i named my dog that name but spelt cali

Yourshakraishangingout · 24/09/2017 19:37

I usually don't like nicknames as stand alone names but I think Callie is definitely strong enough to stand alone! I really like it.
