Athena
Xanthe

Which do you like best? Do any/all of them make you think "What a bunch of pretentious twats"?

I like Xanthe a lot. It's a bit pretentious but not too much imo. Delphi on the other hand, does seem rather ott Ancient Greek to me.

Love Romilly. Especially with nn Roma but it doesn't have to be shortened.

Sorry but if I'm honest, yes all of them There's no denying Romily is very pretty. It doesn't make it any less pretentious, though.

Cool list! They are all a bit posh sounding but nice.

Delphi or Xanthe for me. Romilly is my least favourite, it's a bit frilly. I prefer Athene (ah-THEE-nee) to Athena.

Romilly is my favourite, not keen on others.

Romilly and Delphi are lovely.

Athena is nice but made me think of both mythology and the shop.

Xanthe sounds pretentious - sorry.

I love Delphi! I admit, this is partly because I know a lovely older Jamaican lady with that name, but I think it would be very cute on a little girl. I also know a Xanthe and I'm afraid I do think it sounds pretentious.

I don't like Romilly or Athena, sorry.

I think Romilly is the least pretentious the others I'm not a fan of, sorry

Really sorry op none are my cup of tea at all but my kids names are all in most popular 10 so I have no imagination and am probably best ignored!

Romilly is lovely, don't think it's too pretentious or frilly at all. The others though I'd have to say I think are a little pretentious (sorry).

Really like Xanthe, Romilly and Athena. Very pretty, and unusual without being ridiculous!

I love Athena! Also really like Xanthe. Romilly is nice, but not my favourite. I'm not mad on Delphi.

I don't think Romilly is posh. It's a lovely name.

I also like the name Athena though I too remember the poster shop! Xanthe is nice but very on-trend. I like Delphi but it sounds a bit faddy. I do love Greek sounding names though, how about Artemis, Cassandra, Callista, Melinda, Daphne, Danae, Georgia or Olympia?

To add... I don't buy into any of that "posh" nonsense.

Athena. Very pretty. (Thea also nice, as an abbreviation/ alternative).

To reassure you: I doubt the poster shop brand/ memories of tennis lady and baby-holder man etc. register on young people's radars these days!

(I'm a similar age to you, though: just had 80s' flashback to their famous Syd Brak purple eyeshadow woman and her melting red telephone...).
