As the ONS release their baby name lists tomorrow (UK) I would be interested to hear what names you think will have moved significantly/made it into the top 20! My predictions:
Florence and Teddy as biggest climbers.

This list is the gift that keeps on giving. 17 people actually called their sons Timotei last year. Really?! Did they actually name their kids after a shampoo or is their another country where that's how you spell Timothy and I'm just not aware of it?!

Also lol-ing at the popularity of Khaleesi. The character isn't even called Khaleesi!

thevoice I know someone from Bulgaria with this name. Didn't even know it was a shampoo!

Ds3’s name had just 7 babies named the same last year. The same number as Jorden-Junior.

Pleased & appalled in equal measures!

Harper has shot up thousands of places in ten years. More than any other boys or girls name. Those Beckhams really do have influence.

I am not surprised by the rise in Arlo, I have noticed a few baby's Arlos recently.

Harper and Arlo are such harsh sounding names.

pipilangstrumpf · 21/09/2017 14:25

I agree - Harper is SO unfeminine (And reminds me of a loo cleaner)

Unihorn · 21/09/2017 15:07

I quite like Arlo because I really like The Good Dinosaur but am totally put off it now. My favourite contributions this year were Paislea and Oracle.

TheDisillusionedAnarchist · 21/09/2017 15:23

Quite pleased DS is one of fewer than 3 born last year with his name although there were 11 girls with his name.

DD's name has also left the girls list. There were 5 including her in 2015 and less than 3 in 2016.

They aren't that way out names either: Rumer and Sage. I guess we don't have to worry about them hitting the top 10 at least.

early30smum · 21/09/2017 20:22

DD's name is still in the top 100 but not by much! DS's is much more popular... despite me thinking it was fairly unusual when we named him. Arlo is crazy! It was on our list for baby number 3 (if we have one!) but taking it off now!

Two of the girls names we are considering for number 3 are not in the top 100. The rest are, as are most of the boys names!

I love the fact that there were 6 children called Beryl, Brenda and Bellatrix!! Variety is the spice of life :)
