Max or Arthur?

We are after a name that is 'classic' and will suit an 8 and 80 year old. That he won't get teased about and will suit him to be a labourer or surgeon! Which would you go for? Any other options you can suggest?

Arthur! Great name!

alltouchedout · 17/09/2017 20:54

Max
Also Alex, James, Thomas, Joseph.

mooneypie · 17/09/2017 20:54

Thank you :) We love both. My only concern with Arthur is 'Arthur or Martha' but I am paranoid I think

I have a Max. Much nicer than Arthur IMHO :)

MyDcAreMarvel · 17/09/2017 21:34

Arthur, Max is very popular as a dogs name.

Shantotto · 17/09/2017 21:35

I have an Arthur. He has long curls and a very cute face (even if I say so myself!) so he often is mistaken for a girl. I don't mind, he's only 2! Anyway. On to my point.

I went to a singing group for weeks and always talked to this other woman. So it turns out after two months of us singing 'hello Arthur! Hello Arthur!' the woman says to me what do you mean 'he'?!

Turns out the whole time she was so convinced he was a girl she thought I'd been saying Martha! 😬

Arthur, Max is very popular as a dogs name.

Funny you should say that as I know three dogs called Arthur 😂

jollygoose · 17/09/2017 21:39

definitely Max

TwoKidsAndCounting · 17/09/2017 21:39

Both are really nice

I used to work with someone who named their son max and he got slated for it (behind his back - was awful) everyone thought it was a dogs name, it has stuck with me ever since and although i like it, i would always be aware because of this past experience

MajesticWhine · 17/09/2017 21:43

Arthur goes better with your other names. But Max is also a nice name.

WizardLizard · 17/09/2017 21:47

I like both but have rarely heard Arthur and feel it's due a comeback.

So Arthur for me.

mum2be2boys · 17/09/2017 22:25

Both lovely, but I definitely prefer Max :-)

NameChange30 · 17/09/2017 22:27

Max. I think it's a great name and it also goes better with the others.

I'm not a fan of Arthur although Art is cool.

MollyHuaCha · 17/09/2017 22:55
