Amy is very pretty, but it'd be nice to see Amanda make a come back.
Other names on the same vien
Caroline. Alexandra. Danielle. Melissa. Jillian. Lindsay.

Amee1992x · 31/08/2017 13:55

Amy, because I'm an Amee.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 31/08/2017 13:55

Susannah. Jennifer. Julie. Kellie

Amy unless you don't mind the nn Mandy. I don't like it and that's what my DD's friends call her - and she is a Miranda.

Amy.

Bubblysqueak · 31/08/2017 14:38

Amy. Ever since the friends episode with
A-man-duh I can't face the name. I also don't like mandy.

Comedyusername · 31/08/2017 14:39

Sorry - neither. So many other lovely girls' names out there. Mum of boys here!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 31/08/2017 14:57

Amy

therealmrstumnus · 31/08/2017 15:06

Amy

WildCherryBlossom · 31/08/2017 15:10

Both beautiful, but I would choose Amanda for is rarity value. There are a couple of Girls called Amy at our school but I have never met a child called Amanda and it's beautiful. Makes me think of Almonds and almond blossom.

mistermagpie · 31/08/2017 16:40

Amanda just sounds so dated to me, like Sheila or something?

Amy is better, but a bit blah.

MadisonAvenue · 31/08/2017 16:48

Amy is lovely.

Amanda is lovely in full but would probably be shortened to Mandy or Mand.

17caterpillars1mouse · 31/08/2017 16:51

Aimee - this spelling as I think it looks more complete

Lemondrop99 · 31/08/2017 17:00

I know three Amanda's and none are shortened to Mandy. So its not inevitable.

MaroonPencil · 31/08/2017 17:06

Amy, wonderful Amy

pilates · 31/08/2017 17:07

Amy

Louisa or Helena

Rainybo · 31/08/2017 17:35

Neither. Amy is such a boring name and Amanda has not very attractive shortenings.

RainbowdropsandUnicorns · 31/08/2017 17:36

Thanks, it's helpful to get some opinions. Also really appreciate all the suggestions Smile

Amanda

SuperBeagle · 31/08/2017 21:58

Amy.

Amanda is not ready for a comeback. It's very 70s/80s.

Raines100 · 31/08/2017 22:21

Amanda feels a bit 80s. Amy is timeless and sweet without being cutesy.

Buntysoven · 31/08/2017 23:34

Amanda. My best friend...never ever Mandy and I've known her since primary school. Such a lovely warm name and a great meaning. I dont class it as dated. Probably because she isnt!

Elvisrocks · 31/08/2017 23:37

Amy is timeless whereas Amanda feels dated.

blinkineckmum · 01/09/2017 09:02

Both lovely. Both mean 'loved' or 'loving'.
I prefer Amy.
