Amla autocorrects to 'anal' on my phone. I don't know if that will be generally true.

How about Lydia?

oddleofnoodle · 30/08/2017 23:21

I love Estella.

SerfTerf · 30/08/2017 23:21

Oh great minds Grin

Mol1628 · 31/08/2017 05:04

Alma is fine. If you google any name there will be someone bad with it! No one will associate it

segc94 · 31/08/2017 05:32

Alma Flowers

Pemba · 31/08/2017 06:32

Estella is gorgeous. Actually the only one of your names I'm not keen on is Alma.

Garliccalamari · 31/08/2017 06:40

I absolutely love the name Livia but the history of her murdering half her family makes me wonder if the child might mind being called that. On the other hand she was considered very intelligent and beautiful.

SuperBeagle · 31/08/2017 06:41

Hana is not pronounced like Hannah. It's pronounced hah-nah. If that's what you're going for, then Hana is lovely. But if you're wanting the pronunciation of Hannah, it's best to stick with that spelling.

Livia reminds me of the Ancient Roman.

Alma is outdated, IMO. I know a few in their 70s and 80s.

I'd choose Livia. But I'd pick Hannah if that was an option.

SilverAndCold · 31/08/2017 06:45

Love Estella. Stella is also a lovely variant. Also Alba that was suggested upthread.

OhTheRoses · 31/08/2017 06:47

We know a very clever and very nice nice Alma. She's 18.

OhTheRoses · 31/08/2017 06:57

When I was in my 20s all the following were in their 70s/80s:

Ruby
Grace
Martha
Edith
Flo
Mabel
Ivy
Evie
Violet
Rose

Names of my mother's era will no doubt be back soon: Joan, Shirley, Sylvia, Patricia, Joyce, Moira, Jilly, Christine,

We know a Hana (eastern European and She's called Hannah. I didn't know her name was even Hana for a few years.

Petalflowers · 31/08/2017 06:58

Hana, but spelt Hannah

AmyGardner · 31/08/2017 13:59

@SuperBeagle it must be an accent thing, but how are those pronounced differently?

DramaAlpaca · 31/08/2017 16:04

I'd agree with AmyGardner that Hana and Hannah are pronounced the same.

OhTheRoses · 31/08/2017 19:41

We know a Hana. Most people in the UK pronounce it Hannah but it actually has a longer a, as in farm.

PhuntSox · 31/08/2017 19:50

Estella is lovely and goes well with White.

How about Antonia (Anna) for short?

I think you need a longer first name.

How about Freya?

OhTheRoses · 31/08/2017 20:10

Anya? Anouska?

HeteronormativeHaybales · 31/08/2017 20:11

Hana or Livia.

Theyhaveallbeenused2 · 31/08/2017 20:11

Livia

Jayneisagirlsname · 31/08/2017 20:44

I like Livia or Estella though i think it's a lot to do with liking 3 syllables in front of your short surname. They seem to flow better.

I do like Hana though, and I love that spelling.

bridgetreilly · 01/09/2017 09:35

In order:

Livia
Hana
Alma

Livia is such a great name.

AmyGardner · 01/09/2017 09:57

Must be a Scottish thing then, I see no difference in the two at all.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/09/2017 10:44

Hana

OhTheRoses · 01/09/2017 11:13

I wonder if this little baby is here yet. Good luck op. Whatever you call her will be the right name for her. Do hope you come back and tell us. With pictures Flowers

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/09/2017 13:02

Estella is beautiful, did you name her OP ?
