Livia is a 'proper' name - it was the name.of Emperor Augustus' wife so has been around 2000 years or so! Nowhere near as commonly used as Olivia, but a 'proper' name nonetheless!

Alma.

Alma for me 😊

PoppyPopcorn · 30/08/2017 18:37

Alma, unless you want her to go through life saying "Hana, with one N and no H at the end" or "Livia, like Olivia but without the O".

stellarfox · 30/08/2017 18:41

I like Hana but wouldn't use this spelling as it will so often get mistaken for Hannnah (unless you have a connection to Japan or other country where it's common). Livia is pretty but I would go for Olivia. Alma Im not keen on personally. They are all nice names though so see which suits her

Livia. It's not related to Olivia at all.

lenaleave · 30/08/2017 22:20

Thanks so much for taking time to comment everyone! Our favourite was Alma but we discovered that the only famous Alma White with a Wikpedia entry all to herself was a white supremacist close to the Ku Klux Klan so that pretty much ended that conversation. I (and DH) share the concern with Livia being too close to Olivia and we don't like Olivia at all. And also understand the issue of misspelling of Hana...So we are now considering Amla (which in my language means sweet) but do you think it would be systematically confused with Alma? The other entry today was Estella...What do you all think?

I vote alma still. I dont think you should be put off by that

MadameJosephine · 30/08/2017 22:40

I like both Estelle and Stella but not keen on Estella

OhTheRoses · 30/08/2017 23:02

Alma is so unusual I think amla would be fine. Lydia? Estella will always be the unkind and damaged beauty in Great Expectations for me.

rachrach2 · 30/08/2017 23:13

Hana

Loyly · 30/08/2017 23:15

From your latest post, Estella.

WiganPierre · 30/08/2017 23:17

Livia.

RaspberryBeret34 · 30/08/2017 23:19

I love the name Livia

oddleofnoodle · 30/08/2017 23:20

I don't like any of them at all. If you are going to name your child Hanna just spell it the conventional way and save her a lifetime of correcting people.

Mrsfloss · 30/08/2017 23:21

Lydia?
