I really love the name Thaddeus (yes I know about AHS) but every person I know has said it's hideous. Is it?

I like it.

Makes a change from Alfie and Harry.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 25/08/2017 21:27

I like it too.😄

Jooni · 25/08/2017 21:30

Thaddeus is great! DH was almost Thaddeus, apparently, or Dmitri (his actual name is pretty cool too!)

Jooni · 25/08/2017 21:31

What's AHS?

MissAlabamaWhitman · 25/08/2017 21:31

I like it.

00100001 · 25/08/2017 21:33

AHS = American horror story

There's a baby called Thaddeus in it.

Poppyfields21 · 25/08/2017 21:33

I knew a Thaddeus and people were forever spelling it wrong and also assuming it was a foreign name for example Greek. Personally I rather like it as a name but the constant misspelling would drive me up the wall

Topseyt · 25/08/2017 21:40

A bit too way out for me, but I am probably conservative with my taste in names, so not for me.

Few people would ever spell it right anyway, so a lifetime of spelling it and correcting people would be on the cards.

Carmichaela · 25/08/2017 21:55

I like it

Sophronia · 25/08/2017 21:58

I really like it!

MiniMaxi · 25/08/2017 21:58

I like it! Have met one, grown up, Thaddeus and thought it was cool

MammyOnTheMove · 25/08/2017 21:59

@Topseyt @Poppyfields21 no one can spell our surname 😆 our 2yo can spell it now due to the amount of times I have to spell it to people!

Sorry. Yes AHS is American Horror Story. Thaddeus is the baby/monster in the first season. In reality though his parents are the monsters so I'm confident my baby won't attack me! Although if he's like his brother he'll be a biter in the night!

Everyone seems to think it's too odd. But as a teacher I see a lot of the same names a lot and I wanted something different. I have a lot of jenson, ralphie, Alfie, Harry, Kai, Mitchell boys in my classes. I have a diesel too but I don't like that name either

I'm a teacher as well so I get the appeal of an unusual name.

Thaddeus...I just can't get on board with it, I don't like the sound. Dmitri mentioned upthread is a fabulous name though!

grufallosfriend · 25/08/2017 22:27

I love Thaddeus! It's very cool.

MammyOnTheMove · 25/08/2017 22:42

It can be shortened to loads too. Not sure I like the nicknames.

It was on my shortlist, although DH wasn't keen. I love it!

HappyLollipop · 25/08/2017 22:51

I like it, Thad is a cool nickname!

Nonotmenori · 25/08/2017 22:53

It was a school friends surname.

PaganGoddessBrigid · 25/08/2017 22:54

Like it.

ivegotdreadfulpmttoday · 25/08/2017 23:07

Yes

MammyOnTheMove · 25/08/2017 23:11

@ivegotdreadfulpmttoday 😂 short and sweet! Thanks for your honesty

SuperBeagle · 26/08/2017 00:46

I don't like it at all, and think it'd be a hard name for someone to pull off.

RhubardGin · 26/08/2017 07:20

Hmmm I'm not a fan.

To me it's sounds pretentious and clunky.

How about Theo?

Mum2OneTeen · 26/08/2017 07:21

It's a no from me Smile

MrsEricBana · 26/08/2017 07:22

Yes i know a teen Thad. Seems cool on him.
