I don't know if this is a girl or boy but have a boy name.

Girl could be Meg, Rose, May or Ros/ Roselyn

Meg doesn't flow with our middle names. Can you suggest longer options with Meg as a given name please? (I love Megan, DH doesn't).

Thanks

Margaret?

Violetcharlotte · 23/08/2017 22:38

I may be wrong, but I think Meg's a nickname for Margaret? Not sure what else you could have.. maybe Maggie or Imogen?

Bobbybobbins · 23/08/2017 22:38

Think Meg can be short for Margaret? Margery? Madeleine? Marnie? (Maybe a bit of a push)

NapQueen · 23/08/2017 22:38

Just have Meg. When is anyone ever referred to as their first and middle name tigether?

bridgetreilly · 23/08/2017 22:41

Margaret or Marguerite.

blinkineckmum · 23/08/2017 22:42

Thanks. Ideally not Margaret as that is MIL. I want the full name to sound nice for when you need it in official situations - job interviews, exams, graduation, school register, medical appointments, church ceremonies, family tree...

Margaret. A name that seems to be getting more popular in itself but has many versions - Margot, Marjorie, Daisy, Peggy, Maguerite, Greta, ...

How about Magdalen or a version of but with Meg as the known name. Downside is that it can be pronounced Maudlin.

Threeandabit · 23/08/2017 22:43

Sorry, just realised you said your dh didn't like it.

Megara. It's a bit disney but it's pretty.

MikeUniformMike · 23/08/2017 22:56

Not sure if Roselyn is a new name. Rose Lynne. I like Rosalind and Rosamund but they are pronounced Roz-uh-lind and Roz-uh-mund.
I don't like May but it's quite nice as a surname.

Migraleve · 23/08/2017 23:01

I never understand trying to find a name to fit in these circumstances. You want to call your child Meg, so just call her Meg ?

Threeandabit · 23/08/2017 23:01

There is the name Madigan which might work at a push. However, I suppose it is more likely to be shortened to Maddie. It's Irish and I have only ever seen it written down, so maybe I am pronouncing it wrongly anyway.

Kim82 · 23/08/2017 23:04

I LOVE Meg. I have a 10 year old Megan that goes by Meg more often than not, it's my favourite ever girls name and it's a shame your dh isn't keen. Could you not talk him round?

Other than that the only other name I can think of that naturally gives the nickname Meg is Margaret.

Megaton.
