Due twin girls the start of October.

We had decided on Everly Genevieve & Spencer Ottilie. My DH loved Spencer but has went off it recently & we are gonna choose another name.

He won't let me have Ottilie 😞.

We like -
Verity (DH choice)
Mila or Veda.

Help us 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it sounds like a tongue twister if you say it a lot (you will). Too many 'l' and 'ee' sounds imo.

WaxOnFeckOff · 20/08/2017 18:31

How about Vaila? It's a Scottish Island and sounds similar to Veda and Mila?

igotyoubabe · 20/08/2017 18:59

I find it odd when a post contains the sentence 'please don't' or 'you cant' like it's going to have some kind of impact on their own life! Don't forget OP you don't know these people.

Amee1992x · 20/08/2017 19:11

Thanks, i also think that too.

Isn't mn all about gleaning opinions regardless of how they are expressed (sigh)? Please don't = I don't think it's a good idea. You can't (literally no one can say that to you even if is against the law, always your choice) = I don't think it's good idea.

igotyoubabe · 20/08/2017 19:34

Yes I agree, but how an opinion is received has everything to do with how it is executed. Enforcing your opinion (you can't, please don't) isn't going to be received as well as 'I don't think that is a good idea'. Too many people on here are so forthright. You are able to articulate yourself well clearly, why not be constructive and tactful at the same time?

igotyoubabe · 20/08/2017 19:37

Not a personal attack on you Merry BTW, just a general observation.

ImperialBlether · 20/08/2017 19:45

You're not spelling Everly the right way, OP. It's Everley. If you're still considering that name, don't put your child at a disadvantage.

Amee1992x · 20/08/2017 19:48

Iv seen it spelled Everley, Everly and Everleigh.

OP posts:
Amee1992x · 20/08/2017 19:50

& everyone keeps saying it reminds them of the Everly brothers 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mammadragon · 20/08/2017 19:52

Everly is a well known spelling and probably the most popular.

You can't win on MN OP...if you call your baby Olivia or Oliver you 'lack imagination' but something more unusual 'your child will never be a lawyer' 🙄

I think Mila is a little popular in comparison to Everly as I know of a few. Everly may get misheard as Evelyn but that doesn't matter as plenty of names get misheard or mispronounced now and then.

Amee1992x · 20/08/2017 19:57

Yeah i get that, I love hearing people's opinions & suggestions sometimes because it's an annonmous form people can be a bit harsh.

MerryMarigold · 20/08/2017 21:43

I guess I'm not all that tactful in real life either. I'm one of those people that's pretty good at understanding what people mean so it doesn't make much difference to me how it's said. In fact, it drives me a bit potty when people aren't upfront eg. They think something is a terrible idea and breast around the bush, but clearly they think it's a terrible idea. I want to scream: just say what you mean!! And then I have option to take it or leave it, rather than try and guess what you mean!

Amee1992x · 20/08/2017 21:56

I wasn't having a go marigold I was meaning in general

OP posts:
3wayburger · 20/08/2017 21:58

Faye
Mabel
Briar
Melody
Joy
Jemima

Mammadragon · 20/08/2017 22:02

You can tell people what you mean and be honest without being rude though. Not aimed at anyone specifically just in reference to what you said MerryMarigold

MerryMarigold · 20/08/2017 22:07

But what l why is it ruder to say, "Please don't..." rather than "I think it's a really bad idea...". Too me, they're exactly the same! But maybe I'm not nuanced enough.

No offence taken Amee. I think your name ideas are pretty cool!

Abbyll · 20/08/2017 22:10

Everly and odette?
Everly and collett?
Everly and Violet?
Think a time ending sounds good with Everly.

Joinourclub · 20/08/2017 22:20

Everly and

Piper
Maddison
Mia
Tamara
Addeline
Scarlett
Eloise

Cherrytart6 · 20/08/2017 22:27

Maeve or Maude

BackforGood · 20/08/2017 22:59

I have only heard of Everly as a surname, and it does make me break out in one of the Everly brothers' songs, so I don't like it as I don't like surnames as first names.
I like Margot though.

anna345 · 21/08/2017 11:54

I have an Everly Rose Tabitha ( always get lovely comments about her name - good choice!) and am in hospital about to be induced still undecided on names.

Margot is on our list too as is Martha and Romilly.

So hard !

Amee1992x · 21/08/2017 12:00

We had a still born baby last summer, Romany Mairead ❤️.

Romilly is a lovely name! Good luck x

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Flowers

I think Everly and Mila are nice but Margot goes a bit better in my opinion

FizzyGreenWater · 21/08/2017 14:10

Everly and Margot are great together, and they sound balanced, and are two totally different sounds so no tongue-twister moments - agree that Everly and Mila just don't sound good together. Also the middle names fit.

I'm not a fan of Everly I admit but also are you keen on Eve? Because it's highly likely that she will end up as either this or Evie for short.
