It was meant to be Everly & Spencer...

Due twin girls the start of October.

We had decided on Everly Genevieve & Spencer Ottilie. My DH loved Spencer but has went off it recently & we are gonna choose another name.

He won't let me have Ottilie 😞.

We like -
Verity (DH choice)
Mila or Veda.

Help us 🤷🏻‍♀️

With Veda are you aware that they are Hindu scriptures? Pronounced Vay-da - are you planning a Vee-da or Vay-da pronunciation?

I do like the name but may adjust spelling if you intend Vay-da to Vada - makes me think of My Girl.

Veda would be pronounced Vay-da, it's just a suggestion.

Everly when you have an Avery the dog is a bit odd... 🐶

Happily and Everly (then you can add an Afterly (after!)

I actually like a different syllable and sound for twins.

How about Vaila ? It's a Shetland name I loved for baby number 4 but he was a boy.

I really like Mila also.

Yes the little girl in my girl was called Vada, whatever the spelling is 🙄

Veda makes me think Darth.

I'd definitely go with Mila.

How about Vida as a variation? Means 'Life' in Spanish.

I think Everly is very pretty BTW 😊

Sorry wasn't picking at your spelling of it. I just ended up with that little song she sings in it stuck in my head. FWIW I love mila and if DS was a girl he would be a Mila

French pronunciation is OTT-ill-ee
German is Ott-EE-lee-ya

Seems you are going for the French one, which is lovely

I wasn't really worried about the middle names marching, they are middle names. They are being given them because they mean something

I saw Veda and thought VD. Can't believe I'm the only one!

Mila, I love it. It was on my name list but I couldn't use it as it was too similar to surname.

I think Everly & Mila go well together.

LOVE Everly. It was on my list for DD. I don't think many people would assume Beverley at all. People get used to names very quickly.

Of your other names I prefer Veda! Again I had it on my list.

Although I normally like quite masculine girl names, I don't actually think Everly and Spencer go as twin names.
We had Marlowe on our list for DD and the response I got was quite ridiculous...Hmm

I had assumed that Veda was pronounced Vee-da. If it's really Vay-da then I don't think that's great as to many people it will just make them think of Darth Vadar. Great character but not someone I'd call a a little girl after Grin. What about Vita instead?

I agree with PP that Verity and Everly are too similar sounding, and also weirdly I think too different in type (Verity very traditional virtue name, Everly very modern surname as first name for a girl). I'm glad your dh has gone off Spencer.
