Hi! I have a son called Milo and due another boy in November. I absolutely love the name Arlo and feel this is the name for my baby, however I am aware it's quite similar to Milo. What's your opinion?!?!? I know in my heart I would be so upset if i didnt use this name, but just want others opinions! Thanks Smile

I think it sounds a bit silly. Middle name though?

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 23/07/2017 20:40

Too similar.

Badgoushk · 23/07/2017 20:42

Do it! If you love it. No one else's opinion matters.

milosmummy16 · 23/07/2017 20:43

We like quite traditional middle names (george and thomas ) just as I prefer first names to be a bit different, so don't think I would use arlo as a middle name xx

It's not my cup of tea but neither is Milo. If you really like the name and want to use it then go ahead! It isn't the same name and I don't think it sounds silly with Milo.

WhiskyIrnBru · 23/07/2017 20:48

I think they sound lovely op. Have you thought about Theo? Or Archie? I still think Milo and Arlo are lovely names!

Enidblyton1 · 23/07/2017 20:48

There are far worse combinations. I'd do it if you really like Arlo.

Saffirebleu · 23/07/2017 20:48

Too smilier imho sorry.

How about Aaron?

Saffirebleu · 23/07/2017 20:49

*Similar!

Saffirebleu · 23/07/2017 20:49

"There are far worse combinations."

can you name some?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 23/07/2017 20:49

They sound ridiculous together because they're too similar.

Casmama · 23/07/2017 20:52

If you love it go for it. Everyone who gets to know them will forget thinking they were so similar when they know the individuals.

Floellabella · 23/07/2017 20:53

Too similar, plus Arlo is a very "now" name. I can't imagine shouting out "Milo! Arlo!" in a supermarket Im afraid... what other options do you have?

milosmummy16 · 23/07/2017 20:53

Whiskyinbru we did consider Theo as also really love that, but it's my brothers name so hear it all the time, so wanted to try something different xx

We only have one other name (apart from theo) which is Finn, i like it but don't LOVE it!! Want something a bit different, similar to Milo so something you don't hear all the time. Any ideas?!?!

Sound like nutritional supplements or a pair of guinea pigs

peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/07/2017 20:56

Milo and Finn sound good.

Sophronia · 23/07/2017 21:03

I think they sound nice together!

Saffirebleu · 23/07/2017 21:04

Thanks so much everyone, for all the people that have said they like the names I feel much more reassured ☺☺☺ the others that aren't keen has left me trying to think of another name that u like just as much (which I'm finding very hard lol) xxxx

It's a lovely name, but think about when they are older and you are shouting up the stairs for one if them... they sound very similar and I think it would be confusing. I say this as someone who has a sibling with a similar sounding name and it drove me nuts!

Admirablenelson · 23/07/2017 21:12

Ivo, fine old name.

mrsRosaPimento · 23/07/2017 21:20

I have a son with one of those names. I love the other name too. I think they are lovely names.

milosmummy16 · 23/07/2017 21:23

Mrsrosapimento would you use both names together? Nice to hear of someone who likes similar names 😀
