Wobble over chosen name

Hi
We have an appointment to register dd today but I am having last minute doubts over out choice. It took us ages to agree on her first name, (middle name was decided first and is sentimental)

Her name is Juliet Lorna (surname is similar to Coleman)

We've only had positive comments but that's to be expected. I am worried it's a bit "grown up" but remind myself she will be an adult a long time.! I think part of the problem is that we still call her the nickname she had inside so rarely say it out loud!

It's 4am and I am bored feeding so thought I would ask the opinions of the outside world!!

Beautiful name.
I still have a wobble now and DD just turned 2. She has a very grown up name which is why we chose it but sometimes I wish we had chosen something short and cutesy like poppy or lily.
Then If I hear a name that was on the list I think that would've been lovely too. But I must admit DD really does suit her name she is making it her own.

Oh I love Juliet. And Lorna as it happens. Desist with with wobbling! And congrats Flowers

I'm not called Juliet but have a name which is similar in that it sounds very grown up. As a child, I was called by my full name, a shortened version of my name and a nickname - all of which were fine. As a teenager I grew into my name and as an adult I love it. It is the kind of name which means that you wouldn't be out of place anywhere doing anything. Like you say, you are an adult for far longer than you are a child and anyway I think that Juliet is a great name for a little one.

Thanks all, choosing someone's name feels like such a responsibility!

Beautiful name. I know a little Juliet who goes by Jules.

Fatebook · 20/07/2017 08:54

It's lovely. Timeless and beautiful. Great choice. (Much better than sounding like a kitten).

I had a similar wobble when we registered our second little one, but he's 3 months old now and I can't imagine him being anything else x

Sophronia · 20/07/2017 11:19

It's lovely!

CakeIsMyFavouriteAndBest · 20/07/2017 11:26

My daughter is Juliette and it definitely isn't top grown up for her, everyone loves it, knows how to pronounce it and I'm glad that it's a name that will suit her throughout life!
(I went for the French spelling due to our family heritage but it's a beautiful name however it's spelt!)

HeyRoly · 20/07/2017 11:28

It's lovely.

Babies feel to small to have names. I found myself calling my children "baby" (or a silly nickname!) for ages. They grow into their names eventually.

HeyRoly · 20/07/2017 11:28

*too small
