We're stuck for names for DC3, who is a boy. He has 2 sisters, both with 3 syllable French names.

Here's the current list, we both have issues with the other's favourites so wondering what your opinions are!

Montgomery (Monty)
Louis
Jude
Caspian
Daniel
Oscar
Charlie (not with Oscar 😂 also not keen on Charles but girls both have longer names on b/c)
Toby
Teddy (again not keen on longer versions)
Reuben

Thank you!

I like Louis best - especially if your other 2 have French names.
Louis is my current favourite name for my baby due December I just love it.

Also like Jude and Rueben from your list

SleepFreeZone · 18/07/2017 10:54

I'm going to say Montgomery

ladybirdsaredotty · 18/07/2017 11:25

Thank you both.

Louis is probably my favourite too, Mumoftheark! Good taste 😉

SleepFreeZone I do like Montgomery/Monty, DP LOVES it!

Teddy is my favourite and I would have used it for DS except I wanted a longer name on the BC like Edward or Edmund and DH wasn't keen on those.

Toby is my other favourite on your list.

ilivebythesea · 18/07/2017 11:32

If you are wanting to continue the French theme, I would go for Louis, and I love the name too.

ilivebythesea · 18/07/2017 11:35

Or Hugo or Joel?

ladybirdsaredotty · 18/07/2017 14:48

MaroonPencil neither of us are that keen on the longer names for Teddy so think it might be out for that reason (although I know own they don't have to have a longer name on the b/c)! Thank you Smile

ilivebythesea I love it, too! Also love Jude. Not so keen on Hugo and I find Joel oddly difficult to say, but thank you for the suggestions! Smile

Has anyone got any opinions on Caspian? I love it, but think it might be more wearable as a middle name!

OP posts:
ilivebythesea · 18/07/2017 15:09

Yes, I like Caspian, although it reminds me of Prince Caspian (Lion, Witch & Wardrobe books).

Hamish, I think is a really nice name, one of my favs! How about Leon or Oscar too?

ladybirdsaredotty · 18/07/2017 15:17

Thank you. The Prince Caspian reference is strangely partly why I like it! Reminds me of the BBC adaptation which I LOVED when I was a child, before I understood any of the religious references etc.

Weirdly I just suggested Hamish on the Hadrian thread! I like it but DP doesn't and I wonder if it sounds a bit incongruous with the girls' names.

Not keen on Leon (but thank you!), Oscar is already on the list ☺ love it.

Jooni · 18/07/2017 16:26

I love Louis, Jude and Oscar. I like Teddy too but it definitely needs a long form - far too cutesy if not.

I personally find Caspian a bit OTT, but it's nice enough. How about Julian or Lucian?

Choccyhobnob · 18/07/2017 16:28

Jude or Louis, NOT Montgomery!

BellaVida · 18/07/2017 16:36

If you want to stick with a French name, how about:
Gabriel
Hugo
Maxime
Alexandre
Mathieu
Antoine
Nicolas

CharleyAnn · 18/07/2017 16:45

Louis is beautiful and handsome.

You can also use one of the other names as a middle name too.

ladybirdsaredotty · 18/07/2017 16:59

Jooni I think you are spot on in your opinion! I do think Caspian (and Montgomery, Choccyhobnob!) is a bit...much for us to use as a first name, although I can see us using it as a middle.

Bellavida thank you, some lovely names to ponder, although some may be TOO French for us to use (no actual French connection, just liked the girls' names).

CharleyAnn thank you, that is what I am erring towards, although DP is not so sure!

  1. Reuben
  2. Teddy
  3. Louis
  4. Oscar

Are probably my top 4 Smile

mondler · 18/07/2017 18:40

I like all your choices which probably isn't helpful! I think Louis or Jude would go well with siblings names. I know a little Monty aged 18 months and it suits him.

Also, not sure if it's just Edward/Theodore you dislike but I know a Teddy whose actual name is Frederick in case you prefer that Smile

bridgetreilly · 18/07/2017 18:46

Ted nn Teddy is fine. I think Teddy is a bit much for a grown up man to have to live with.

Of the others, I like Toby, Charlie, Oscar and Reuben.

Louis.

Sophronia · 18/07/2017 19:47

I like Daniel and Louis

ladybirdsaredotty · 18/07/2017 20:09

Thank you all Smile

mondler, thank you, I do quite like Frederick actually, but maybe not enough to actually use iyswim?

Louis is coming out as popular, which I'm quite pleased about!

And Jude, which is probably my other favourite currently, although I do like them all.
