Love them both so I'm not helpful, maybe Julian just has the edge for me.

wapphighwood · 14/07/2017 13:20

Lucien, its on my list for dc2

maitaimojito · 14/07/2017 13:26

Lucian

minipie · 14/07/2017 13:28

Julian. Better nn potential (Jules vs... er... Loose?)

Letitrain · 14/07/2017 14:06

Julian

Julian, 100% Smile

MikeUniformMike · 14/07/2017 14:41

Julian makes me think of Julian Assange, so a definite No.
Lucian is OK but a little unusual. I would pronounce it Looshen, but I suppose it could be pronounced Luce-yen or Lucy-en.

greendale17 · 14/07/2017 14:52

Lucian

Nobody will care or even remember Julian Assange in a few years as your son grows up. Definitely not a reason to avoid a lovely name.

MollyHuaCha · 14/07/2017 15:04

Julian - I just love this name.

BrollyDolly · 14/07/2017 15:18

Lucian!

Flofferton · 14/07/2017 15:20

Lucian.

Julian is wet.

TurquoiseOwl · 14/07/2017 15:43

This is the 3rd time I think I've asked this on a thread.

What the heck is a 'wet' name? One that doesn't sound strong? Why do boys always have to be seen as strong? I don't get it. Wet is never used for a girls name.

MikeUniformMike · 14/07/2017 15:48

Drippy. A name that makes you think of someone a bit dithery or feeble. A bit like Mavis in Corrie (might be before your time). Girl's names can be wet too.
I know a few Julians and although none of them were wet, I can't say that they changed my opinion about the name.

Flofferton · 14/07/2017 15:50

A 'wet' name is a name that reminds me a dull and feeble person.

Verity and Gwendolyn are also wet names.

What the heck is a 'wet' name? One that doesn't sound strong? Why do boys always have to be seen as strong? I don't get it. Wet is never used for a girls name. This, a million times. And what even is a 'strong' name? One that means 'strong' or 'powerful' or similar and all the other names are 'wet'??

I love Julian/Julius. Great names. Also really like Lucian, but I think you'd have to be comfortable that it may be shortened to Luke.

starsinyourpies · 14/07/2017 16:13
