Currently pregnant with dc2. Nothing is set in stone re names yet, but ATM we are thinking of either Penny / Nellie (Penelope on bc) for a girl, Kit (Christopher on bc) or Peter for a boy.

Thoughts and suggestions welcome! We like classic names, leaning towards those popular in the 80s / 90s. No particular reason for that, they just seem to be the names we like. I'm not generally a fan of anything but the longer / full name on bc, though there are some exceptions.

Other girl names we like are Katie (one of the exceptions^^), Juliet and Niamh. We're sort of stuck for boys except the two I've already mentioned.

Pippa!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 22/06/2017 11:25

Grin pippa!

Sorry, should also have said Pippa would be Philippa on the bc.

Pippa or Kit

Choccyhobnob · 22/06/2017 11:35

Definitely Penelope and Kit! Peter is one of my least favourite names in the world ever so sorry about that!

Lemondrop99 · 22/06/2017 11:35

All nice. I like Penny and Kit best

Decaffstilltastesweird · 22/06/2017 11:38

Thanks all!

No worries hobnob, my sister has said the same for years! I know two beautiful Peters which I think has coloured my view Smile.

Really lovely names, I prefer the Kit option of the 2 boys names. I totally agree on full names on BC

MissCherryCakeyBun · 22/06/2017 11:40

Just had a thought tho ( as we all have shortened names as family names ) be careful of Pip and Kit sounds a little like you could be calling out pick it Confused

I really do love the names tho

squoosh · 22/06/2017 11:41

Penny and Kit.

Lovely.

Amee1992x · 22/06/2017 11:47

Love Penelope in full as well, Kit is unsusal I don't know any.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 22/06/2017 11:48

Yes cherry, or 'picket' I suppose...!

I don't imagine they will ever be siblings though, as this is most likely going to be our last baby.

I like them ALL. Probably leaning more towards Penny and Kit. Beautiful choices OP! Smile

willconcern · 22/06/2017 11:59

Another who really doesn't like Peter.

Kit is lovely. Also like Penny and Nellie.

Whatslovegottodo · 22/06/2017 12:01

Pippa and Kit by a mile - fab names.

MommaGee · 22/06/2017 12:03

Team Pip and Kit

implantsandaDyson · 22/06/2017 12:10

From your original post I like Juliet or Julia maybe. I'm just not a fan of Penelope - it's just one of those names I don't "get". I find Niamh quite dated, Pippa is nice. I like Peter, always have done, it was one of my husbands favourite names for each of our three daughters Grin.

Sophronia · 22/06/2017 13:42

I love Peter! Peter or Philippa are my favourites.

raspberrycordial · 22/06/2017 13:54

Doesn't pippa mean bj in some languages? Just a thought...

Decaffstilltastesweird · 22/06/2017 14:35

It does raspberry! Or is it wank? Not sure. Either way, I can live with it, as we live in the U.K. It doesn't seem to bother Pippa Middleton or the numerous other Pippas I know. If she can't stand it then she can always be Philippa or Pip Smile.

Peter is French for "to fart" as well, but again, as we live in the U.K., I don't imagine it will be an issue. They're pronounced totally differently anyway (I speak French). If we ever move to a francophone country, I will introduce him as Pierre!

greendale17 · 22/06/2017 19:28

Penny and Kit

PunkAssMoFo · 22/06/2017 19:29

Juliet and peter

ScarletSienna · 22/06/2017 20:15

Love them! Don't like Nellie but love Nell. I really like Peter.

Any! (No help!)

Decaffstilltastesweird · 23/06/2017 08:48

Thanks everyone! I've counted up opinions (saddo Wink) and it's 7 each for Pippa and Penny! That confirms my feelings on it as I can't choose between them either. If it's a girl, I'll just have to wait to see her and decide then. I've got ages to go yet.

Kit is by far the favourite on here I think. I won't write Peter off just yet though.

Thanks again!
