It was what I wanted to call my son when I was younger (about 15 years ago).

I didn't because by the time I had my son it was shooting up the charts Blush

wobblywonderwoman · 20/06/2017 23:49

No. It isn't a name I like at all. I like stronger names- though I know it is biblical- just a bit too airy sounding.

BandeauSally · 20/06/2017 23:49

Yes I think it's a beautiful name but the popularity of it means I wouldn't use it.

Chapterandverse · 20/06/2017 23:50

I only know one Noah, he's 13, so it's not popular at all where I live.

I like the name.

Lemondrop99 · 20/06/2017 23:51

I've never really understood the appeal of this name or how ur got so popular. Not to my taste and I think there are many nicer biblical names around

DramaAlpaca · 20/06/2017 23:54

No, I just don't like the name, nothing to do with it being popular.

It did annoy me a bit when the names we chose for DS1 & DS3 started to take off in popularity a couple of years after they were born. At least I can tell myself I was ahead of the trend!

DS2's name is a classic, so I knew that was going to be quite popular but I loved it so much I didn't mind.

tellybear · 20/06/2017 23:54

Yes. I still like it. I'm not religious but like a lot of biblical names - Eve, Rachel, Sarah, Noah, Joseph, Adam. I guess because they are quite classic.

CrownOfPrawns · 21/06/2017 00:04

I think Noah is a hideous name and cannot understand why so many people like it.

Ojoj1974 · 21/06/2017 00:07

No not really

Scrumple · 21/06/2017 00:09

I love it. And i don't know a single Noah around here. A similar name i also love is Ezra.

I'd probably not pick it if it was a common name in my area though. I wouldn't want my child to be the fifth Noah in the classroom.

ScarletSienna · 21/06/2017 00:11

No.

It sounds like a whiny no.

"Sam, please can you help me wash up?"

"Nooo-ah, why should I?"

MrsCharlieD · 21/06/2017 00:14

Yes I like it but wouldn't use it as it's too popular. I would however use Noa for a girl.

5OBalesofHay · 21/06/2017 00:14

Quite Scarlet it sounds whiney.

AvaCrowder2 · 21/06/2017 00:16

I'm not really keen on the name, its popularity wouldn't make me like it more, but I know some really lovely ones so I do like it more than I would have.

kittytom · 21/06/2017 00:28

I am not personally keen. But if you like it that is all that matters?

Jooni · 21/06/2017 07:06

Yes I really like it

SuperBeagle · 21/06/2017 08:09

No.

Too Biblical for my liking. Too old man with a beard and an ark with animals.

ProseccoandPizza · 21/06/2017 08:12

Used to love it when pregnant with DS however then DP vetoed it. After hearing Noahhhh and Nicoooo recently I decidedly do not like it.

harderandharder2breathe · 21/06/2017 08:34

I like it. I've never liked Olivia which is one of the most popular girls names out there at the moment though

needtokeepstrong · 21/06/2017 10:00

I've never been keen - probably because it's one of those words I find hard to pronounce for some reason
Think there's hundreds of better choices tbh but ultimately it's up to you OP, as long as you love it then go for it

hawkmcqueen · 21/06/2017 11:19

There are lots and lots of them here but I have never liked it, to me it is wishy washy and weak. A bit wet really.

caprifun · 21/06/2017 11:22

I think it's a lovely name.

BlondeGinger · 21/06/2017 11:37

I've never liked it even before it was so popular. It just isn't a nice name to me. Completely irrationally hate it!

CrownOfPrawns · 21/06/2017 12:35

All N names suffer badly when people have colds, too Grin

haveacupoftea · 21/06/2017 12:42

Like SuperBeagle I find it just too Biblical. Luke and Matthew are Biblical but Noah is on a par with Moses or Jesus in terms of Biblical..ness.
