No never liked it

Susiethetortoiseshellcat · 21/06/2017 12:45

Yes I love it. I taught a teenager Noah a few years back when it wasn't so popular and thought I might use it but wouldn't now as I know several babies called it.

NataliaOsipova · 21/06/2017 12:50

I really, really don't like it. Sounds a bit US Bible Belt. It's become very popular very quickly. I first heard it 5 years ago and, to be honest, I had to stop myself from sniggering when I did. Now I've come across loads of them! That's just me, though...

WarwickAlice · 21/06/2017 12:56

The name is not to my taste, but my husband likes it. Thankfully, I have a cat called Noah (not my choice; he came with the name!) so the name is off limits for our children!!

AncientOva · 21/06/2017 16:18

I really love it, I think it sounds gentle. I know a couple of lovely toddler Noahs as well, which makes me like it even more.

Couldn't see myself ever using it myself as I'm a confirmed atheist.

Pickerel · 21/06/2017 16:19

It's not a name I'm fond of personally. Not sure why!

gunsandbanjos · 21/06/2017 18:09

I'm really not a fan either, regardless of popularity. It's just a bit weak.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 21/06/2017 18:26

Yes, I think it's lovely.

CaoNiMartacus · 21/06/2017 18:33

I'm not a fan. It puts me in mind of someone yelling out before they're hurt - "No! Arghhhhhhh...."

Wolfiefan · 21/06/2017 18:35

No.
The only one I know actually had his name shortened to "No" by family. Wouldn't call my child that! Grin

Huffletuff · 21/06/2017 18:38

No. In Wales its how annoying children say no.

RockinHippy · 21/06/2017 18:39

No,

grufallosfriend · 21/06/2017 18:47

No, I dislike the sound.

It sounds like a whiny No

vincentaroony · 21/06/2017 18:51

I'm not keen on the sound of Noah. It's not a very 'strong' name somehow. I don't actively dislike it though, it's pretty inoffensive! Why do you ask?

UsernameInvalid66 · 21/06/2017 21:56

I don't like it much, popular or not, but I don't see how people think it is "weak" - I've always thought of it as rather abrupt and spiky sounding!

grufallosfriend · 21/06/2017 22:58

Weak sounding maybe because it ends in -a as do mostly girls names?

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/06/2017 20:44

I do really like it but as pp upthreas posted, it's how annoying children in Wales tend to say "no". If I didn't live in Wales it would be on my list.

HoratioNightboy · 22/06/2017 21:01

I've always really liked it, and its popularity is something I wouldn't even notice. However I wouldn't use it myself as there are lots of names I like more.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 22/06/2017 21:17

Weak sounding maybe because it ends in -a as do mostly girls names?

Why are girl names automatically considered weaker than boys' please? Or have I misread?
