Which do you prefer for a little girl? Big brother is Rupert.

Miranda 100%! That's my dds name and it's beautiful. It means "worth admiring" and you can't go wrong with some Shakespeare inspired names. Also there are some beautiful paintings based on that character, Google "Miranda the Tempest" by Waterhouse

I prefer Marina, it's a lovely pretty name and quite modern. I like Miranda too though!

CrownOfPrawns · 20/06/2017 11:04

Marina is a Shakespearean heroine too.

MikeUniformMike · 20/06/2017 11:12

Marina

MollyHuaCha · 20/06/2017 11:13

Marina. Very pretty.

Argeles · 20/06/2017 11:24

Marina.

n0ne · 20/06/2017 12:08

Much prefer Miranda, lovely name. Marina is too 'nouny' for me to get past

Stonelady01 · 20/06/2017 12:30

Marina but I'm biased as it was my mum's name and she was a lovely strong woman, Miranda just makes me think of that comedian lovely but a bit goofy

Lemondrop99 · 20/06/2017 18:35

Out of the two, I prefer Marina. I dislike Miranda personally and I was nearly named that by my parents! Soooooo glad I wasn't

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 20/06/2017 19:53

❤️ Miranda

villainousbroodmare · 20/06/2017 19:56

Like both but think Miranda wins for me.

leghoul · 20/06/2017 19:59

Marina makes me think of Mirena coils

Yogagirl123 · 20/06/2017 19:59

Marina is lovely.

leghoul · 20/06/2017 20:00

Though I don't actually dislike it

APaperMe · 20/06/2017 20:10

How do you pronounce Marina? I immediately thought Mirena coil too but maybe I'm pronouncing it incorrectly?

MineKraftCheese · 20/06/2017 20:34

Miranda very classic, goes well with Rupert.

But I think Marina is lovely, puts me in mind of the beautiful pop star Marina Diamandis

bridgetreilly · 20/06/2017 20:52

Miranda is a lovely name. Shakespearean, classic, strong.

Yika · 20/06/2017 20:56

Lovely names, both of them.

I think Miranda goes best with Rupert, though I think Marina is slightly lovelier as a name.

grasspigeons · 20/06/2017 21:04

I like both.

I think Marina is prettier but it does make me think of the coil and Brighton marina a little bit if I think about it. I doubt I would if I met her though.

I always liked Marika and Mirren which are vaguely similar and I know a
Mirbelle, Marella and melissa (just in case mumsnet put you off your lovely suggestions)

HollyBollyBooBoo · 20/06/2017 21:05

Neither, both horrible.

friedegs · 20/06/2017 22:04

Either. I think both are beautiful and different from all the Evies/ Islas/ Isabellas etc!
Marina just about pips it for me but love Miranda too.

I like Marina because it gives its name to a beautiful T.S. Eliot poem (also very Shakespearian, it came from Pericles).

MaidenMotherCrone · 20/06/2017 22:27

Miranda.

Marina reminds me of the woman who held up our post office with a shot gun and said 'I'm Marina XXXX this is a hold up'. Made the stocking on her head a bit pointless really. This was going back a bit though but I still prefer Miranda.

robertagxo · 20/06/2017 23:03

Marina is absolutely stunning, and marina and Rupert sound so cute together
