I was set on Beatrice nn.Bea/Bebe but am now thinking Beatrix looks and sounds nicer...I don't want the nn. Trixie though...

Mn. Emilia as I love it but can't use it as a 1st name...or maybe Alice - don't want to use as it as a 1st name as already have a daughter with the same initial...

Beatrice Alice (don't think this works as the last 3 letters are the same)...
Beatrice Emilia
Beatrix Alice
Beatrix Emilia

Thoughts?

I know a Beatrix. She's a cutie and was born last year which I think was the 100th anniversary of Beatrix Potter something or other. Beatrice is lovely too but I do think of Beatrice and Eujenny. Not a bad thing

I like Beatrix- unusual and cute

msocean · 16/06/2017 21:00

Definitely Beatrix!!!!

OwlsinTowls · 16/06/2017 21:41

I personally prefer Beatrix - it has a younger vibe that I don't get from Beatrice. Also, all I see when I look at Beatrice are the words Beat/Rice.

Beatrice Emilia or Beatrix Emilia are both stunning names.

Sophronia · 16/06/2017 21:46

Beatrix Alice

I think it depends on the surname.

Beatrice sounds better with my surname, but Beatrix would work better with DH's surname.

With regard to middle names, I'd either go for Beatrice Alice or Beatrix Emilia.

I prefer Beatrice as when I see Beatrix written down it reads as Bee-Tricks in my head.

Jooni · 16/06/2017 21:58

Beatrix is funkier and my personal fave. However I'm a big fan of Trixie; if you're not, it might be wiser to go with Beatrice.

Either way, I much prefer Emilia as the middle name.

blahthisistoohard · 16/06/2017 23:55

I honestly don't know the difference between Beatrice and Beatrix...can someone explain?

mummytobemaybe · 17/06/2017 00:00

Beatrix

Muumi3 · 17/06/2017 08:30

I prefer Beatrix but if you hate Trixie, steer clear.

Beatrice Alice

autumnkate · 17/06/2017 08:42

I find it hard to say Beatrix! Never know if I'm saying it right

BendydickCuminsnatch · 17/06/2017 08:50

I prefer Beatrix but Beatrice flows better with Emilia.

queenofthedump · 17/06/2017 09:05

Thanks Owls! I am now never going to be able to unsee Beat/Rice.

Always preferred Beatrix anyway though...

blahthisistoohard · 17/06/2017 09:13

Beatrix as in Beatrix Potter, but what is Beatrice?

Montsti · 17/06/2017 10:25

Thanks for all the replies.

Blahthisistoohard - what do you mean, "what is Beatrice?" Are you asking if it's a made up name?😕
