How popular is Edward...?

I'd ruled it out thinking it would definitely be top ten but just seen it was mid-fifties for boys last year! Do you know many?

I only know one and he's 12. Plus it's utterly gorgeous and if I had an immaculate conception now and it was a boy he would be an Edward.

2 of the 6 baby boys I know still pre school age are Edwards. It's a great name though.

I have a 2 year old Edward and have only met a couple of others out of countless small children met at toddler groups, playgrounds etc. Lots of Teddies though, so if you were planning to use that nickname it might be more common.

I don't know any young Edwards. I like the name, it's classic & traditional and has lots of nickname potential.

I have one who is 9 and we never meet any others. It isn't common at all in my experience.

I have a one year old and it's the most popular boys name amongst babies I know from groups etc. Nickname Ted/Teddy.

i know a few little boys under five named Edward. Teddy is becoming increasingly popular.

I know a few young ones and think it is on the rise a bit. But that doesn't matter - it's classic and lovely and I don't think it will ever be 'faddy'.

I know several aged between 10 and 20 but don't know any younger Edwards

I have one, who will likely be one of three in his class. Seems to have had a spike in popularity round here.

(Fortunately none of them is known as Edward in full so there is unlikely to be any confusion or even being known as Edward H, Edward S etc)

Round my neck of the woods every other child is called Ted or Ned or Teddy, or Eddie, real name Edward.

I know very few children who actually go by the full name Edward. It's so much nicer than Ted and Teddy and it's a shame it isn't used more as it is lovely.

We've got a 9 month old Edward. He goes by Ed or Edward as we hadn't decided on a nickname when he came home from hospital, so our other DSs call him his full name. We don't know any others.

I love the name. Absolutely wonderful! I don't know any others the same age as my very lovely one other than a Ted.

I have one too! We use the full Edward. There's one other in his year of 30 boys and he's an Eddy (age 7 btw). There aren't any at all in dc2's year (age 5). I love the name and it was my grandfather's name so pretty special to us
