Lana

What do we think to Lana? I already have a Vera and think it has a similar vintage vibe. I like names that are easy to spell and pronounce, are kind of punchy but obviously feminine, and that work across languages and cultures.

Other options are Rita, Frida and Astrid.

I like it (although it reminds me of wool for some read).

grufallosfriend · 08/06/2017 16:30

reason

MissJC · 08/06/2017 16:30

Astrid is beyond beautiful! Such a lovely name. Why the hell didn't I think of that?!

Lana is nice but for some reason makes me think of Lamas.

I wanted Beatrix but my other half put his foot down.

squoosh · 08/06/2017 16:34

I like it but I have to admit that once I realised it spelt 'anal' when spelt backwards that put me off.

What about Greta? Also has a vintage Hollywood vibe but is a bit cooler than Rita or Frida.

Sophronia · 08/06/2017 16:36

I prefer Lara.

DramaAlpaca · 08/06/2017 16:45

This, exactly. Such a shame because it's a pretty name.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 08/06/2017 16:45

Sorry for the grim post, but spell it backwards.😮
Love Frieda and Astrid, Rita is nice too.
How about Greta ?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 08/06/2017 16:47

Squoosh, Greta is a lovely name, great minds think alike 😄

heateallthebuns · 08/06/2017 16:51

I like it. I think Astrid works better with your existing name though as Lana is too similar.

n0ne · 08/06/2017 17:51

I love Greta but don't like the way it'd be pronounced in my adopted country (imagine the 'ch' of loch instead of a hard G).

Its gorgeous, and if the Anal spelt backwards bothers you. That's easy got around by spelling it.
Larna
Lanah.

Fauchelevent · 08/06/2017 18:55

grufalo maybe because lana means wool in Spanish and Italian.

I like the name, mostly because of Lana Del Rey

Fauchelevent · 08/06/2017 18:56

And by the time any of her peers know what anal is, she'll probably be too old to seriously be affected by that ribbing and can laugh along (I would know)

Joinourclub · 08/06/2017 19:03

I like it, but think it would sound very similar to Vera when you are shouting up the stairs/down the garden / in the park etc.

What about
Heidi
Sadie
Tess

UsernameInvalid66 · 08/06/2017 19:22

Not one of my favourites, but I think it goes really well with Vera for some reason! There's also Lena, if the anal thing worries you.

A couple of other suggestions with the same sort of vibe: Rosa, Eva, Anya, Saskia, Ilona?

user1467976192 · 08/06/2017 19:23

Lana is nice just make sure she's not a mirror writer

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 08/06/2017 19:39

Alana ?

BellsaRinging · 08/06/2017 19:43

I like Lana but I love love love Astrid.

CleopatraTheCatLover · 08/06/2017 19:44

I like both Lana and Astrid

glitterglitters · 08/06/2017 19:51

It's my daughter's middle name. I love it. Makes me think of classic Hollywood and I love Lana Del Rey :)

glitterglitters · 08/06/2017 19:51

Also dd2's middle name is going to be Astrid. You have good taste op Grin
