We like middle names to honour someone our only problem is we have a tiny family! DD1's MN is my sisters name. DC2 due in June and struggling with a middle name is a girl. She'll be called Stella. Here's who we'd like to honour problem being we and our family don't like their names 😂 Any ideas?

Stella Ann (my mother)
Stella Laura (my Gran)
Stella Ruth (my great aunt)
Stella Odette (DH Gran)

Odette! How marvellous.

Stella Ruth runs together better but Odette is ace.

Stella Laura is a bit of a tongue twister but the others flow well.

Presleyx · 19/05/2017 20:36

What about Arlo or Lora it is all their first initials thier names xx

Rockaby · 19/05/2017 20:36

I like Stella Ruth best.

Maybe a middle name after a personality trait which has meaning for you and your family, if that's not too tenuous!

Stella Joy
Stella Verity
Stella Faith

It doesn't really matter how the first name and middle name sound together as generally the only time you talk about people's full names is when they are being named. Apart from my very immediate family I don't know anyone's middle name. So my suggestion is to just chose whatever name you like. Obviously I wouldn't chose a middle name that jarred with a first name but other than that I'd not worry about it.

"O' Stella Marie you're my star"

Fozzleyplum · 19/05/2017 20:47

Great choice of first name (guess what mine is!). I'd avoid a middle name beginning with L or A as both will sound stilted. Of your 4 options, Odette sounds by far the best IMO. I may be biased as my middle name is a not dissimilar French name!

KLG3101 · 19/05/2017 20:52

Stella Artois! Grin I do agree that Ruth sounds best together with Stella. There are so many pretty names I'd use but do feel strongly about honouring someone.
