I like Juniper and Jane and think they'd both go well together.

January isn't the worst name I've heard, I've met one and she was born in April. But you'd have to be really cool to pull that off.

averythinline · 10/05/2017 16:11

I like Juniper not Jane it's v dull and every Jane I know has felt the same! How about Juno as a compromise..
Do like Evangeline but yes lots of Evie ...how about Clementine?.starts with the same letter as Constance so that could be the compromise 😀
Prefer Violet to Violetta not so keen on Vi

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/05/2017 16:13

Juniper is a fabulous name.

CoralieConfused · 10/05/2017 16:14

CricketRuntAndRashers I feel you're on my wavelength!

Oo! DP says he also likes Clemency.
I think it's ok, prefer Clementine Sad

My nana was called Lilias. I love it too.(she didn't) most people called her Lily.

Allthebestnamesareused · 10/05/2017 16:16

I like the late addition of January.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 10/05/2017 16:18

I do like Clementine :) DH's niece/godchild is named Clementine (nn Aprie...)

Anyhow. I personally don't like Clemency (although I do think it's better than Constance). So... Your DP seems to like virtue names?

CoralieConfused · 10/05/2017 16:19

I think I got a bit carried away by the excitement of a top 3, and forgot Evangeline doesn't quite belong there - let January take its place

Floggingmolly · 10/05/2017 16:19

If you're going to be so touchy (plain rude, actually) when someone expresses a solicited opinion; you have a rough ride ahead of you with that list...
Lilias?? And telling people to shut up doesn't make it sound any sweeter.

CoralieConfused · 10/05/2017 16:20

Haha yes, DP is a bit of a Puritan

OP posts:
sailawaywithme · 10/05/2017 16:20

I think they're all dreadful. Wipe the slate clean and start from scratch. (Not terribly helpful, I'll admit, but you did ask.)

CoralieConfused · 10/05/2017 16:20

Oh heyy, Floggingmolly Lovely to see you

Well, there are of course names like Temperance, Prudence or Patience. Tempie is imo a really cute nickname, but I personally wouldn't use it (especially not as a first name). You could use it as a 2nd or 3rd name as a compromise?

Or maybe Honor, Felicity or Valerie (instead of Valour)? Or maybe January virtue name (maybe DH's choice)?

Ecureuil · 10/05/2017 16:30

Only names I like from either list are January (in an odd way!) and Constance

CoralieConfused · 10/05/2017 16:31

Good suggestions. (Though I like Honor...he doesn't! Annoying.)

Jojoanna · 10/05/2017 16:34

Love January although January jones was born in January. Not sure it matters

EatsShitAndLeaves · 10/05/2017 16:34

Not a fan of January

EatsShitAndLeaves · 10/05/2017 16:36

Jane is the English version of the French Jehanne.

Any room for compromise there OP?

user3459859083590890 · 10/05/2017 16:37

Juniper (Jennifer Juniper - Donovan song) I think Juniper is nice but could the kid live up to the name? How about June?

Evangeline (not keen ?flange Blush I prefer Eva)
Lilias (prefer Lillian )

Jane (my favourite - simple, classic, pretty, easy to deal with)
Violetta (a bit fancy?)
Constance (a bit Victorian in a stuffy way - I read a lot of Victorian literature and see this name a lot so maybe it colours my view)

EatsShitAndLeaves · 10/05/2017 16:37

jehanne juniper - or the reverse?
