Due early July.
The final shortlist is:
Delphi Rae
Elsie Mai

My heart says Delphi but I don't know if it's just too unusual. I don't want her to hate her name. DP is equally fond of both so is letting me have the final say. Surname is a common 2 syllable name beginning with L.

Would love your opinions!

Delphi is lovely.
Elsie is very cutesy and nickname-y imo.

I also like Delphine :)

Lemondrop09 · 04/05/2017 14:46

I'd pick Delphi Rae as it's more original

Both Elsie and Mai are very popular right now

BlueEyeGreenEye · 04/05/2017 14:49

I've heard of loads of Elsie Mai so I'd pick the other x

Mothervulva · 04/05/2017 14:50

Delphi. Much more original.

Jooni · 04/05/2017 15:01

I really love Delphi. Elsie is just too sweet for me, especially paired with Mai.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/05/2017 15:04

Delphi. It's absolutely gorgeous. Too many 'Something' May/Mai around at the moment, imho

1AnnoyingOrange · 04/05/2017 15:05

Delphi from me, even though I have never heard of it before, I love it.

LozzaChops101 · 04/05/2017 15:06

Delphi Rae! Lovely.

blueskyinmarch · 04/05/2017 15:06

I have not heard of Delphi before but it is really lovely. Go for Delphi Rae.

MommaGee · 04/05/2017 15:11

Another vote for Delphi here too

averythinline · 04/05/2017 15:19

Are Rae/Mai middle names or are they being part of the name IFYSIM
if so prefer Elsie although I like the ancient Greek vibe of Delphi...but don't think Delphi Rae together sounds as good...

Laniakea · 04/05/2017 15:24

Delphi by a million miles

pipilangstrumpf · 04/05/2017 15:24

Delphi is lovely and much more interesting than Elsie.

isupposeitsverynice · 04/05/2017 15:28

Ah Delphi, definitely, it's really pretty.

MamaTT · 04/05/2017 15:29

Oh I'm so glad you've all said that! When I told my best friend I liked Delphi Rae her reaction was pretty much "wtfHmm"

I love love love it. I'd not heard of it but found it on a random name list online somewhere and instantly loved it. My DCs names are interesting but not hugely unusual so I think they all go nicely together.

Delphi is awesome, go with that.

harderandharder2breathe · 04/05/2017 15:32

Delphi Rae definitely

twobarnsmammisonthebus · 04/05/2017 15:33

Delphi is wonderful! And Delphi Rae is great but given that Rae is increasingly popular as a second name and veering into Mae territory in terms of its frequency, I wonder if there are any fabulous alternatives...

Delphi Bea
Delphi Nora
Delphi Tuva
Delphi Ebba
Delphi Gina
Delphi Lena
Delphi Frida

I think Delphi Rose could be ace too, despite the popularity of Rose.

IntheBenefitTrap · 04/05/2017 15:38

Has someone been reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child? 😉

Delphi is Voldemort's daughter.

IntheBenefitTrap · 04/05/2017 15:38

Delphi Rae is a proper Potter /Star Wars cross-fandom name :)

Rockaby · 04/05/2017 15:41

Delphi Rae by miles!

CricketFishieDHAndI · 04/05/2017 15:42

Inthe

Isn't she Delphini? Idk...

Mrsknackered · 04/05/2017 16:00

I don't like the spelling of Mai, much prefer May or Mae (assuming you're pronouncing it May)
But I really love Delphi and Rae Smile
