I like it a lot. I think it's really pretty, but quite strong sounding.

I think is it a lovely name and it is a name that I think works just as well for a woman or a little girl.

I know a baby Meredith, its a lovely name. She has a sister called Gloria which I also love.

Also I wouldn't discuss names with relatives before your baby arrives. They will veto all your favourites and overwhelm you will opinions (but will grow to love your actual choice later on when your baby is here).

My friend has a little Meredith who gets called Merry for short. I think it's gorgeous and love the nickname too.

I also love it, it's just so elegant but not too pretty pretty. Meredith sounds like a girl that will go far IMO.

I have one of those!

When she was born my Dads first reaction to the name was 'that's a good strong name - she'll go far!'

We've never shortened it - I like it just as it is and as yet she hasn't wanted to either (but she's only 5 so there's still time!)

And yes we were/are Greys Anatomy fans!

As long as you don't shorten it to "mer" grey anatomy seriously got that wrong
