I have just come across someone who proudly bears the name of Buckmaster de Wolf. It is the awesomest name I have ever heard! Does anyone have any similar awesome names?

I know of a gynecologist called Dr. Bush. Always makes me giggle in a childish way.

My cousin has a friend called Lee King.

I know someone with the surname Peaceman, which of course, inevitably gets pronounced by people as 'Peace man', while people throw a 'hippy sign'.

Remember coming across a drama therapist called Ditti Dokter

Vanillaradio · 25/04/2017 19:56

Dh recently had dealings (in a professional capacity!) with a judge called Judge Fudge. He also knows of a Misty O'Hara which sounds glamorous .

The politician representing the British government in Northern Ireland is called James Brokenshire- which is apt, as, at the moment Northern Ireland is going through a rough political patch.

DoItTooJulia · 25/04/2017 20:02

I live a bit of nominative determinism.

I had my brakes repaired by a Mr. Breakwell a couple of years ago.

And I know a bakery manager called Phil Cherry.

And I went to school with a girl who's dad was a GP. Surname Payne. Dr Payne.

Brilliant!

There was a Florian Finkbeiner at dd's kindergarten in Abu Dhabi.

He was a Yank, poor little bugger.

Also in the Gulf, I had a boss called Orville D. Lape,, Jr. (another Yank, needless to say). Best Yank mane I ever heard was Randy Ponce, though.

According to his name badge, a waiter at a hotel in Lagos (Nigeria) was called Mortality.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 25/04/2017 20:58

Name, not mane!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 25/04/2017 21:21

tanfield90 · 25/04/2017 21:29

A couple of American pilots, one of whom I met. His surname was Kuntz. Never knew his first name. The other was, I think, a test pilot. His name was Randy Starbuck (only in America...).

I was at my local playgroup as a youngster with a Justin Tyme. I'm not joking. It could have been worse; Mike Oxbigg, Hugh Janus and so on come to mind.

BTW I HRTFT so apologies if I've repeated some names.

ProseccoPoppy · 25/04/2017 21:31

Hugh Cumber. Junior barrister. Definitely should've been a kid's TV character!

dancinfeet · 25/04/2017 21:46

I know a lady who kept her maiden name when she got married, otherwise she would have been Mrs. Shirley Worley. I think her married name sounds much more fun

frami · 25/04/2017 21:55

Last year I took my dog to a vet with the surname Labrador.
I worked with a Rose Budd.
Also know Dr Kneebone

tanfield90 · 25/04/2017 21:55

Another pilot I was aware of was Captain Fear. He wore a cape to work; it had a big gold letter 'F' on the back.

I have a colleague whose surname is Cakebread.

There was also an Edwin Shacklebracket.

If your surname is Love, you have to be a doctor. Introducing yourself as 'Doctor Love' must be pretty cool.

MrsBobtonTrent · 25/04/2017 21:55

Used to work for a chap with the surname Hoar who named his son Nicholas.

Also, worked with a Will Excell (v dynamic sales type - I always wondered whether he would have been different with a more staid name).

Met an Australian lady called Tallulah Tripoli - love the way it rolls off the tongue!

defineme · 25/04/2017 21:56

One summer, dh and rented 2 cottages in France, one off Daffodil Marriage and the other off Bunty Cox.
I know teachers called Mr Snowball, Mr Wiggle and Mr Windybanks.

MrsBobtonTrent · 25/04/2017 21:57

And we always watched the credits after Buddy so we could cheer for Thomas Wanker.

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 25/04/2017 22:16

I've met a naval officer whose surname is Ripping-Gale. I've often pondered whether his surname suggested his career to him?

Lulukat · 25/04/2017 22:19

Went to school with a girl called Inda Bath

Flywheel · 25/04/2017 22:27

In The states worked with Buddy Allgood, Willie Wanca and met a Stormy Chamberlain. Fantastic
